Ever since Barry Allen supposedly got rid of the mysterious box, he's been frantically trying to figure out how to defeat Savitar, and it's been driving Caitlin crazy. She was watching him torture himself when she has powers she could use for helping. After all, she did freeze him once, why can't she do it again?
"Barry," Caitlin called, but he didn't look up from his book, so Caitlin raised her voice a tad bit louder. "Barry!"
He looked up in frustration, his eyes hinting that he was slowly losing hope - she wouldn't let that happen. "What, Cait?"
She walked over to him, nervously playing with her fingers as she went over everything in her head. "I have an idea as to how to defeat Savitar."
Barry seemed to be paying close attention now. If anyone could come up with a smart idea, it would be Caitlin Snow. "What are you thinking?"
Caitlin took a deep breath. "I was thinking maybe I could help you with my, um, powers."
"Absolutely not." He sped through the rest of his book.
"Why? I can't just sit here, Barry! I have powers, I should use them," she argued.
"I-We almost lost you the last time you used your powers."
This agitated Caitlin. "Do you not trust me? You think that I'll become her?"
Barry shook his head. "No, but I'm not going to risk it."
"Why not?" Caitlin was almost yelling, something that was very unusual for her, but she was angry with Barry. "I'm willing to risk it. I'm willing to risk my humanity if it means helping you defeat him."
"I won't allow you to," Barry told her calmly, his eyes apologetic.
"You don't get to decide for me," Caitlin said right as Cisco entered the room.
"I'm sorry, am I interrupting your first quarrel?" Cisco raised his eyebrows at the scene in front of him. "I'll leave."
Caitlin was too upset to try and understand what Cisco was saying. In fact, she was really upset with Barry. She's been watching him go out and fight for a while now. She's perfectly capable of going out there herself. Even if she's not a qualified fighter, she's willing to learn. Caitlin couldn't continue to argue with Barry, so she went home.

The next day, Caitlin was hoping and praying for a silent day in the world of crime, and for the most part, it was a quiet day... up until HR asked her to find some crime for Barry to stop.
"Caitlin, can you see if there are any robberies or fires or anything?" HR asked.
"I don't know, can I?" She directed her comment at Barry. Cisco made an "o" with his mouth.
Barry sighed. "Can you give us a minute?"
HR and Cisco obediently left the room, Cisco giving Caitlin a confused glance on his way out. Caitlin folded her arms across her chest.
"You help me a great deal without the powers. Why do you want to use them so badly?" he wondered.
"I can't just sit here and watch..." she admitted, "I have to do something."
Barry looked apologetic. "I'm sorry Cait, but I can't let you go out there."
Caitlin couldn't really blame him. She hardly trusted herself, either. She always checked to make sure she had the cuffs on, because she was always scared she was going to screw up. She wasn't thrilled about the idea of using her powers, but if it meant helping Barry, she'd do it no matter what the cost.
"Barry, please!" Caitlin sighed in frustration. "I can protect myself. I don't care if we have to have Oliver come and teach me how to fight, I'll learn. I won't let you do this alone."
Barry moved closer to her. "And I won't let you risk your life for me."
She smiled. "Barry, I will happily risk my life for you. After everything you've done for me..."
He reached for her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. "I don't think you understand, Cait."
"Understand what?"
"I care about you too much to let you risk your life."
Caitlin's heart skipped a beat, her cheeks turned a light shade of pink, and she had a million questions, but she was speechless.
He continued. "I wouldn't be able to think if you were out there with me. You want to help me? Stay here where you're safe."
"But I can't think when you're standing in front of a speed god who wants to kill you," Caitlin told him, her voice almost a whisper. "You have to let me help you, Barry. You have to le-"
Caitlin was silenced with Barry's lips. She was so shocked she couldn't move at first, but then she was kissing back. She wrapped her hands around his neck as he placed his on her back.
"Stop arguing with me," Barry said, his forehead pressed against hers.
"Okay."
And then they were kissing again, all of the arguing disappearing.
