**A/N: I honestly didn't feel Vapora's vibe being delivered from someone as young and lighthearted as Dove. So I've decided to look for an older actress to portray her and Teresa Palmer is perfect. I'm confident in this because she is both dark and lighthearted in her roles as Vapora is in this role. Sorry for any confusion! I hope you like the change??!!**
"Well, that was... Interesting," Nova offered generously.
My training had been pitiful. Three hours of our lives had gone to waste. We would have stopped earlier but Shaye insisted we keep trying. After witnessing my failure herself, she finally conceded to ending my humility. Long story short, I was not able to wield fire. Try as I might, nothing happened whenever I attempted to achieve Nova's skill.
I was embarrassed. I could not speak as they do and now I cannot wield magic as they do.
"We can try again tomorrow," Shaye assured me, "It takes time."
"So does my speech," I sighed in shame.
"Well, princess, not everything will just happen the way you want it to. If it did, you wouldn't be here, you'd be sipping tea with your high class mother," Tempris chimed in as she usually does.
I gave her as evil a glare I could, "Do not speak of my mother. You can make snide comments about my life all you wish, but my mother is none of your concern."
"Please. Your mother is-"
"Tempris, really! Look, you've been my best friend for two years now, but you're driving me insane! I can't keep having to monitor your every sentence and every move!" Shaye exclaimed in anger.
Tempris jabbed her pointer in my direction, little flames flickering from her other palm, "Then you shouldn't have brought her here! She's the reason we're all out here! She's the reason for a lot of things but you!? You're going to be the reason any of us gets hurt over trying to save her kingdom."
"It may be her kingdom, but she's my family."
"As your best friend, I'm telling you now that this is a mistake and it will cost someone's life," Tempris growled, her eyes flickering to me, menacingly, "But I promise it won't be one of ours."
Shaye pinched the bridge of her nose and took a deep breath. I had not noticed that Nova scurried off, most likely not wanting to be in the midst of this dangerous argument.
"She can help us," Shaye finally said.
Tempris rolled her eyes, "Shaye, she can't even learn to talk like us. It's just speaking, how hard can that possibly be?"
"What does it matter that I am not able to speak as you do?" I timidly included myself, aware that I would regret it.
"Tempris, she will never learn to wield fire if you don't teach her. Nova is great but you know she won't push Omnia like you would," Shaye said, gesturing to me.
I frowned, "I would appreciate it if I was not pushed at all."
"No way. I'm not teaching her," Tempris retorted.
"I am clearly being ignored," I rolled my eyes to myself.
"If you don't teach her, she won't learn and then we won't get anywhere!" Shaye begged. "We're supposed to move the site today but this is our top priority now."
