I told Natsu to go home, shower and get some rest. He kept on refusing, but then I told him I'd consider giving him another chance to reattempt that kiss. He was gone by the time I finished my sentence.
Now it was just me alone with my thoughts. And it keep nagging at me. I knew I wasn't going to be able to sleep. So I quietly left the room and went for a walk. I decided to train. Even with my injuries, I have to try. I went into the woods and began practicing spells. But it just wasn't enough.
"What are you doing," said a loud raspy voice said.
Quickly I whipped my back around and held up my key. But to my surprise it was Igneel, Natsu's dad. A dragon. I quickly put down my key.
"Your Natsu's father, right," I asked politely.
"Yes, you know my son," his eyes began to lit up. He began to suck in the air. Causing the ground around me to rumble. I stumbled, holding my stance. "That's right, his sent is all over you-""Are you his girlfriend," he questioned.
" Well-" then I remembered Natsu and me almost kissing. "I guess you can put it that way."
"Wow he's quite the lucky one," he chuckled, causing the ground to rumble again. I began to laugh with him.
"My name is Lucy, nice to meet you Igneel."
"Lucy why are you training at the middle of the night."
"Well I got hurt during a mission, and I almost died. I really scared Natsu. He looked so helpless. It was as if I hurt him by getting hurt. I can't be weak anymore, for him."
"Well then, I can train you."
"Really."
"Yes, I can train you to be the strongest dragon slayer."
"A dragon slayer-," I questioned. "Like Natsu."
"No, you'll be much stronger than him. I call it elemental dragon slayer. Giving you the ability to use all dragon slayer magic."
"How long will it take to master."
"It will take about up to 5 years. Depending on how fast you learn."
"When do I leave."
"By this morning ."
"But I won't have time to say good bye," I said in one breath.
"It be best if you don't."
"You're right," I let out a sigh.
"Go pack up, now. May be you'll get a chance to write a letter."
I remember the letter Natsu left me. I felt a stab at my heart.
"Okay I'll be back by the morning," I said while walking backwards. When I finished, I turned around and ran. I threw my front door open and packed quickly. Finally stopping to write to Natsu. I finished and sealed it. I wrote his name on it neatly and layed it down on my desk. I let out a sigh. Then I realized the sun was rising. It's time to go. I quickly got out. And said my last good bye. When I got to Igneel he blocked my our scents so Natsu would'nt be able to find me. I let out a sigh.
"Are you sure about this," he asked.
"Yes-," I gave him a small smile. "We should get going now. He should be reading the letter by now." I began to wonder if this was how Natsu felt when he left me that letter. I'm sorry Natsu I can't let something like this go. I got on Igneel's back and watched a Mongolia became smaller, smaller, and smaller.
I'm so sorry.
