YN POV

I wake up to the sound of my alarm clock ringing and I turn it off . I look out the window and admire the beautiful sunrise . I get get up to brush my teeth, and take a shower . It's 7:00am and I realize that my mom is still sleep, so like the greedy person I am, I go downstairs to the kitchen . I take out the pancake mix and start cooking some on the griddle . While hesitating, I talk myself into making a fruit salad, eggs, bacon, and fresh orange juice . As I'm cooking I hear my mom coming down the stairs .

Rachel: (yawns) Good morning, sweetheart .
YN: Good morning .
Rachel:(inhales deeply) Mmm . It smells good in here .
YN: Yeah . Well, I was way too hungry to wait for you to get up and cook .
Rachel: Now YN . You know I have to work late for the next two weeks at the hospital and last night was hectic . So you're gonna have to bear with me until then .
YN: Yeah, yeah . I know . I guess I'll ease up on you .
Rachel: (chuckles) Okay . I'm counting on you .
YN: (smiles) Anyway . Breakfast is ready . (helps set the table with her mom)
Rachel&YN: (starts eating)
YN: So you say you had a hectic shift last night, huh ?
Rachel: (looks at YN) Yes . I just told you . Why do you ask ?
YN: Are you sure you weren't in deep conversation with that charming Mr. Derrick ? (asking curiously)
Rachel: (terrified inside) Um . (clears throat) I don't think that's any of your concern .
YN: Sure . Whatever you say .
YN: (changes the subject) I was planning on going out later with a few friends . Can I go ?
Rachel: Why not ? Besides, you need to get out of the house sometime .
YN: There's nothing out there for me, anyway .
Rachel: I'm sure there is . And you need new people in your life, too, ever since that incident with . . . .(GCO-gets cut off)
YN: Yeah . I remember, mom . But I don't want to talk about it, okay ?
Rachel: (looks at YN) Okay . But you're gonna have to talk and let it out sometime .
YN: (sighs and nods her head) (gets up and puts dishes in the dishwasher)
Rachel: I'll be in my room taking a nap if you need me .
YN: Okay .
Rachel: (goes upstairs)
YN: (goes upstairs to her room as well)
