❝your lipstick stain is a work of art.❞
she looks so perfect, 5 seconds of summerI opened my eyes and instantly cringed at the sound of rain dripping down outside my window. The plans I had made were now mentally cancelled, seeing that it already looked bad outside today and it was only 8 in the morning. The sky was grey and the constant rain did not stop at all.
I haven't been in New York for a week and the weather has been already too bad for my own liking. I was given a few months off so I had decided to go visit family back home then spend the rest of my time here. I would have to do a few publicly things, but they were simple as going to a fashion show for fashion week or go to little events so I didn't mind staying here.
The weather reminded me of London for a bit; sad, grey, rainy, and cold. I rented an apartment so I wouldn't have to stay at a hotel room. I knew that I was going to go back here someday, cities had always been my thing. I once dreamed of living in a big city and now I could do that because of the success of One Direction.
I stayed in one spot, happily content with my lights dimmed and the rain dripping. I wasn't a big fan of the rain that much, but with all the bustling of the cars and big buidlings, it almost looked beautiful. I knew I had to get up though, I didn't plan on staying here for nothing. I got up from my bed and headed towards the bathroom for a shower.
When I was done, I got out and obviously got dressed. I looked out the window to see that the rain had mostly stopped, I was glad. Turns out my plans wouldn't get cancelled at all. I made myself a small breakfast and then got out of my apartment, making sure that I locked it before walking out of the big building that I would call home for a few months.
I didn't know where I was going, I just walked. I knew that I would get lost but I had my phone, I could easily type in the address and walk back to the building. I wanted to go somewhere new, somewhere where I could be peaceful and leave myself thinking.
I saw a café, it looked older than most of the buildings here and I wasn't surprised. The paint outside was almost faded and the wood looked like it was about to fall off.
I opened the door and the bells that indicated someone walked in, rang. The lady at the front smiled at me and I grinned and waved at her. I walked over and sat at the stools at the front.
"Hello, dear, my name's Ella. What can I get for you today?" She smiled sweetly. She looked like she was tired for the day. Maybe because it looked like a lot of people had come here just by looking at the muddy rag at the front door. It was wet and muddy just like outside.
"My name's Harry, how are you?" I asked, as I scooted closer to the island.
"I'm great, hun. Thank you for asking. How are you?"
"I'm doing great, the weather outside looks like it isn't though." I laughed.
"Can I get tea, please? Just regular green tea." I asked and she nodded, going to the back to get some green tea. I waited for awhile, I didn't mind the wait. I sat patiently at the stool and observed the place, the walls were painted a light brown and the lights were slightly dimmed. It was quiet, but you could hear some of the people chattering around.
"Here you go, dear." She said, taking me by surprise. I smiled and took the tea with two hands. I walked to the back of the room, sitting at one of the empty booths.
I set down my tea and phone on the mahogany table. I took off my jacket that I was wearing and carefully put it on the chair. I sat down and took a sip of the tea. It wasn't the best tea I've had but it would have to do.
