❝she's confident; you could tell by the way she walks in the room.
confident, justin bieber ft. chance the rapper"So, we meet again, I see."
I smirked at her, holding my cup of tea in my hands. Her eyes darkened at the sight of me. I knew that I annoyed her in every way, she made that pretty clear yesterday. I sat down, in the same spot I was at yesterday. Her brown eyes studied my every move and I laughed quietly to myself. Oh, messing with her was so fun.
I carefully set down my phone and tea down on the table and she sighed. She took a sip of her drink and she started reading again, ignoring my presence overall.
"Why are you here?" She asks, frowning at me. Cute.
"Because you know, I liked talking to you." I grin at her childishly. She rolls her eyes and I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing loudly.
I don't know why I was here again. She obviously didn't like me and I could tell that she despised my company a lot. But — as cheesy as it sounds — there was something that pulled me into her. Maybe it was the way she talked to me, it was overwhelming and surprinsgly, I liked it.
"The only thing we 'talked' about was how you're an annoying asshole." She grins.
"I may be annoying but I am not asshole!" I exclaimed, gawking at her.
She rolled her eyes and I shook my head. I was pretty sure that I wasn't an asshole.
"If you go away, I'll give you ten dollars." She said.
"Trust me, honey. I don't need any of your money." I smirk.
"How arrogant," She mutters. "Just because you're famous, you could go around bothering people. Yeah, I get it."
Normally, I would be bothered, but it was from her and I expected that. If she was another person, I would have walked away by now, not bothering to talk to her again if she didn't like me, but it's fun hearing what she's gonna say next. It's always something new and surprising; something I didn't get that often.
"I don't even know your name." I say out of nowhere as silence took over the room.
She shrugs. "You don't need to know my name. I don't plan on talking to you ever again, Harry Styles."
I stare at outside for awhile, zoning out. She continued reading (obviously, what else would she do?) while I just simply stared out the window.
It was summer, but it was very close to fall. The leaves had started falling and I grinned to myself. Fall is obviously my favourite season ever. It's not too cold and it's not too hot. I've always wanted to spend Fall here and now I finally get to do it. I couldn't be more happier and content. It's just so beautiful seeing the leaves changing into different colours. Also, the cinnamon drinks from Starbucks are my favourites so I looked forward to Fall every single year
"You look like you're going crazy." I hear.
I snap back to reality and I smile at her. "I was just thinking about the leaves. Like, Fall, I mean." I smile.
"Is Fall your favourite season?" She asks.
I nod at her, grinning like a child.
"I love Fall!"
"Oh. Me too." She mumbles. I smiled, at least I had one thing in common with her.
"So tell me, do you go here everyday?" I ask, leaning forward so that I could hear her answer.
"Not anymore, I won't." She sighs, turning her page and impatiently tapping her nails to the table.
I raised an eyebrow. "Oh, why?" I question as I take a sip of my now warm drink.
"Because you're here now, duh."
I frowned. "Well, I see that Mr. Harry Styles gets his feelins hurt easily, I get it."
I rolled my eyes. Why was I trying a proper conversation? I could just leave right now and she won't care. But fuck, I told you; something brought me closer to her.
"Well, anyways, what's your favourite colour?" I ask.
"Black." She simply answers, her voice monotone.
"Oh really, I didn't notice." I mutter as scanned her body. Black shoes, black jeans, black shirt. Black everything.
She looked up from her book and glared at me. "What was that?"
I shook my head. "Oh nothing."
I yawned, getting tired. I was giddy of going to the coffee shop and seeing her again so I made sure to get up early and look my best.
"You tired?" She hums as she looks away from her book. I raised an eyebrow.
"Why do you c-care?" I cough.
"Who said I did? I was just curious, it didn't mean that I cared." She stated, putting her attention to her book.
I sighed and shrugged.
Who was this girl really? I need to know her. I needed to understand her completely. Why was she so bitter? why she treat people like this? I needed to know.
Why?
I don't even know myself.
She just – I know this sounds cliche – but she intrigued me. It's not everyday that I meet a person like her. I say her because she hasn't even told me her name yet.
"So, how was your day?" I question.
She shrugs. "Bad now that you're here."
I roll my eyes. "Okay, so anyways, this morning while I was walking here, I saw this old couple they were so fucking cute, you know? They were like holding hands and all, he had his arms around and I like to be like that with my wife someday. Growing all together and such. " I was rambling and I knew that but she still wasn't paying attention to me, I just wanted her attention.
"I don't know, I don't want to start thinking about marriage cause I'm still really young, you know? And there's also a shit ton of fish in the sea and I don't want to get married young, but I know that I do want to get married."
"Then after that the funniest thing ever happened. This dog was like chasing this guy and he was screaming so loud. It was so hilarious because everyone just stared and they didn't even bother helping the poor guy!" I exclaim.
These stories were so irrelevan but I'm trying to make her laugh, smile, giggle. Anything that would get her to show a little bit of emotion.
I sighed, staring at her no reaction face. I grab my phone and go on google.
"funny jokes" I type in. This was my last resort, I needed her to show any kind of emotion so I'm counting on Google to actually have a funny joke. I clicked on the first link and scanned through the cheesy jokes.
"Hey, what do you call a computer that sings?" I say, laughing at the actual joke. She looks up from her book and she stares at me.
"Are you telling me a joke?" She bites her lip, smiling slightly.
"A-Dell!" She stares at me laughing. She facepalms and I grin.
"C'mon, that was such a good joke! Laugh with me!"
"You're so desperate for my attention, it's almost funny."
