"We can't let this happen any longer!" My boss yelled at all of us from across the long table. "It's getting way out of hand!"
"Well, what are we supposed to do? Go out there and kill it? It's way to dangerous, and the kids need to understand that!" One of the other workers added.
"Exactly, the kids just follow that thing into the woods, but they don't even know what's gonna happen. All they want is the bait that it's holding out for them," another worker said. "But we don't know what it is,"
"It could be anything! Candy, money, some sort of magical thing," my boss said.
"Well, maybe we could find a survivor and ask them?" I asked.
"No one survives once they meet The Creature, no one," my boss told me.
"Except for someone, but it's no use," some other worker muttered.
"What was that, John?" My boss asked.
"Nothing," John said.
"Speak!" My boss screamed.
"There is one survivor," John said as he pulled out a brief case. He opened it up, and everyone surrounded him. "Meet Harold Diaz." John told us. We all gasped.
"This brief case could solve everything." My boss muttered in a quiet voice.
"Harold was a young boy, about 6, when he got abducted. According to the story, he was walking home from school and he saw the thing in the woods. He walked closer and he grabbed him. The Creature hurt him and now, the poor boy is scarred for life. No one knows all of the details, because he is so traumatized, that no one can get it out of him. But this was years ago, and now he is about 20, if he's still alive. But still people try to talk to him about it, but every time, he goes crazy. It's no use, he won't talk. But this has all of his information in it." John explained.
"This is unbelievable! John, thank you so much! Tomorrow, we will find this boy and interrogate him! You are all dismissed." Boss said as he danced around happily.
"No, that's not a good idea, the kid is crazy sir, he will rip anyone to shreds if we remind him," John cried.
"John! You don't make the decisions around here. I do. You better show up tomorrow." He turned serious. "You are this close to being fired! I've had enough of you! Just go home!"
"Alright, alright, I'll stop, but if we all get killed tomorrow, then don't say I didn't warn you," John snapped as he stomped out of the office.
"Vanessa? Can I talk to you for a sec?" Boss asked. Uh oh, that's me. So I walked over to him smiling. "Vanessa! You didn't have any ideas today! You're the ideas girl! You're the only girl!"
"Sir, just because I'm a girl, doesn't mean that all I am is the "ideas girl", I'm stronger than this." I said slowly to him, because I didn't want to get fired.
"Vanessa, I know who you really are inside. I know why you came here to work. I know all of your dirty secrets. You better have an idea tomorrow. Don't test me." Boss snapped.
"This talk wasn't about my personal life, sir. I would like to keep my reasons for things to myself, I don't know what you are talking about. This is my life and I'm gonna do what I want, say what I want, and keep my secrets to myself." I snapped back at him. I don't know why he said that he knows all my dirty secrets, I've never told anyone anything.
"Okay Vanessa, but don't be surprised if you let yourself down. In the end, you're just a girl." He said. He did a little laugh and walked out of the building.
Oh I'll show him that girls are strong and we could do what we want.
