~"What Game?"~

I was just quietly studying for my upcoming English exam when I heard the ever so frequent yelling of my mother and my sister. They were ever at each other's throats trying to win an argument.

Usually, it was about my sister's future or something she had done in the past. So, it didn't surprise me when I heard my mother yell at my sister,

"You can't just drop everything to be a cook!"

To which my sister replies,

"I'm not dropping everything, I'm simply asking you to support me through culinary school! Can't you just- "

"No. I can't just. You have a life to live! You can't just throw it away on cooking."

"I'm not mom, it's what I want to do. Will you just- "

"No. I will not."

I know my mother has ended the conversation when I hear,

Thump, Thump, Thump.

As my sister, Jordan, so gracefully ascends the stairs. I know she is coming to our room so I tuck my head back into the text book. She knows I was listening but I like to think she's too stupid to dive into such a deep train of thought.

After she slams the door to our room open, she flops on her bed. When I look up as if having no clue, she mumbles,

"I know you were listening so, don't even play that game."

To which I reply,

"What game?"

She glares at me from across the room. Then her face brightens and she jumps off her bed and heads over to my desk where I am 'studying' . She then pulls up a chair and looks at me with the known look of mischief.

"I have a plan."

She then smirks and proceeds to go through pictures on her phone. She choses a photo and then turns the phone so I may see it.

"This is my plan"

She smiles broadly as my eyes scan the picture in front of me.

At first glance it was just a picture of the outside of a college but after closer inspection I concluded that my sister must be very hormonal.

The school was Dawson Law Prep, an all boy's school in the state over from where we lived.
