"Come on, Keeley! I want to go on the Ferris Wheel! The Fair is gonna close in like ten minutes! I can't miss my favorite ride or the amazing view!" Nicky, Keeley's best friend exclaimed.
Keeley continued to rummage through her purse, searching for her phone. Dammit! Where could that stupid phone be! Please tell me I didn't lose it! That would suck!
"Hmm? Right, yeah. The Ferris Wheel..."Keeley absentmindedly replied, as she continued to ravingly go through her purse.
"What's wrong? What ya looking for?"Nicky curiously questioned.
"Huh? Oh, my phone. I can't find it anywhere. I think I might have lost it. It's not in my purse or my pockets."Keeley continued as she felt the pockets of her jeans and jacket.
"Umm..are you sure? Where was the last place you had it?"Nicky asked with a look of hope on her face.
"Yeah, I'm sure..."Keeley thoughtfully replied, "Oh! I think I left it at the table we were eating fries at!"
"Oh. That's all the way across the fair..."Nicky confirmed.
Keeley noticed the look of sadness on her best friend's face, and made a last minute decision.
"It's okay. You get in line. I'll meet you there." Keeley offered, already running towards the small restaurant type place they had fries at.
She waved to Nicky, not bothering to look back, as she dodged the many bags and bodies in her way.
Keeley finally reached the restaurant and ran to the table they had eaten at. She urgently glanced on, under, and around the table. With no luck, she slumped into a chair.
"Excuse me, miss. Are you looking for a phone?"a kind-looking, old lady asked.
"Umm, yeah. I left it here. Have you seen it? It's an iPhone 5s."Keeley hopefully answered.
"Yes, dear. A young man was sitting here not too long ago, looked about your age. He saw the phone and handed it to a worker at the register. What a kind thing to do."the old woman responded.
"Yeah, that was very nice of him. Thank you so much."Keeley gratefully replied.
She ran to the counter by the register, impatiently tapping her foot. After a few seconds, a worker approached Keeley.
"Hello, miss. Can I help you?"he asked.
"Yeah. I left my phone here. It's an iPhone 5s. I was hoping maybe someone turned it in?"Keeley timidly explained.
"Well, you're in luck. Someone turned it in not too long ago. Here you are."he smiled, handing my phone back to me.
She observed it. It seemed completely fine. Thank, God!
Keeley quickly thanked the man as she rushed back to Nicky. She had made it just in time. It was their turn.
The grumpy man in charge of the Ferris Wheel ushered them on, "Next! Hurry up, you slugs. I don't wanna be here until midnight."
"Damn. What's up his ass?"Keeley joked to Nicky.
The two giggled together as the man glared at them.
"Oops. Guess he heard that!"Nicky laughed.
They giggled some more as they got on the ride. While Nicky gazed at the view, Keeley opened her phone and observed it. Everything seemed normal. Until something caught her eye. She had a text notification. Hmm. I wonder what this is...
Keeley opened the text. It was from someone named Talon. The contact name had the emoji with hearts for eyes next to it.
Keeley started to panic. She had no idea who this was. She opened the text which was a picture "she" had sent to him. It was a selfie from her photo album. But she had never sent that photo to someone named Talon.
The reply from him said: Damn. You have one good looking body ;). Oh and your welcome for turning in your phone. Hope you don't mind I added my number :P.
I texted back: Perv. I don't even know you. Why did you put your number in my phone? You're not a stalker are you?
After a few minutes I saw that he was typing.
Talon: No, I'm not. But I do think you're cute. And I'd like to get to know you ;)
Keeley: What if I don't want to get to know you? Like I said before: perv. And let me guess. You're an asshole, too.
Talon: That's no way to talk to the guy who saved your phone is it?
Keeley: That's all you did. I don't have to talk to you anymore. I'll just accept your act of kindness. Goodbye -_-
Talon: Aww, you wouldn't want to do that.
Keeley: And why not?
Talon: Because I have this.
Under his text was a picture of me. And it wasn't pretty.
Keeley: OMG WHERE DID YOU GET THAT! I THOUGHT I DELETED IT!
Talon: Well the good thing about iPhones is that you can retrieve deleted pictures. Unless you delete them from your deleted photos. Which you didn't.
Keeley: I swear to god if you blackmail me with that I will find you and murder you in your sleep!
Talon: I promise you I will and you wouldn't be able to. I'm a football player.
Keeley: Ugh. Don't tell me your best friends with my brother.
Talon: Who's your brother?
Keeley: His name's Zach.
A minute passed and he didn't reply. Keeley was starting to get confused.
Nicky saw Keeley's expression and raised her eyebrow at her.
Keeley handed Nicky her phone and Nicky scrolled through the texts.
"Oh my god, he's totally flirting with you!"Nicky exclaimed.
"Keep scrolling."she replied.
"No way. I can't believe he almost blackmailed you with that photo!"Nicky gasped.
"I know right. That's such an asshole move to make."Keeley shook her head.
Nicky continued to scroll and got the same confused look as Keeley when she realized he didn't reply.
Nicky looked at Keeley who just shrugged. Then the two heard a ding!
Keeley grabbed her phone and glanced at the text. It was from Talon.
Nicky, already knowing who it was, asked, "What did he say?"
Keeley looked at the text and began to read it aloud, "The text says..."
The end. What do you think the text says? Did Talon tell her the truth? Or did he lie so he could still get close to her?:P Hope you enjoyed this one shot for Textrovert/ The Cell Phone Swap! <3 ;)
