Chapter Two

  ( Danny P.O.V)

After we left Mia in the gym, Dylan and I are following John to dad's office. I hope Mia is okay. I am the only one that knows about how she fells about her views on our family being hunters. I always knew something was up with her but I didn't know it was this. I remember the first time she killed a deer. She had no emotions on her face , but you can see it in her eyes. Dad and Dylan couldn't see it, but I could. They were filled with so much pain and regret, like killing the deer, killed piece of herself. I still remember the first time I saw her cry over a kill.

                Two years ago

Dad, Dylan, Mia, and I were all out in the woods training with dad to be the next hunters. Mia was only ten, and Dylan and I where 12. We have been the woods all morning running, fighting, and swords sparing. Mia was always good with swords while Dylan and I preferred guns. She has been training harder then us, I guess she just wanted to be the best hunter there every was, but now I know she was trying to make herself feel no regret. Today she will have to kill a deer just like I did when I was ten. She doesn't know that she is suppose to it is suppose to be a test of our instincts. It should be by noon that da will tell her the she has to hunt done the deer.

All of us are in a clearing in the woods somewhere only dad knows the way since he doesn't want us to come out here and ruin all of the equipment. Dylan was on the obstacle course while me and Mia are doing hand- to-hand combat. the obstacle course has a lot of ropes, monkey bars, and ladders, its suppose to help us with speed, strength, and agility.

The goal for hand-to-hand combat is to fight until your opponent submits to you. Dad had us face each other in a fighting stance and told us not to hold back on each other.

"Ok kids, you both know how this works , you have to try to pin the other down.Got it." Dad said.

We both nod our heads in understanding, the he shouted "GO". Mia came at me straight on with a jab to my stomach but I blocked it with my hand. Then I punched her in the side of her ribs. she stumble but didn't go down. She shook her head trying to ignore the pain that is probably going to be a bruise later. She faked a punched and tried to knock my feet from under me, but I saw it coming and jumped when she swiped her feet under me. She got up fast , but not fast enough when she was coming up I kneed her in the stomach. She stumbles but didn't  fall only clenched her teeth in pain and her hands flew to her stomach but only for a second. Mia may be a good fighter but I am better. I know all of her moves and her combos, but she doesn't know mine. This went on back and forth for about ten minutes either of us willing to back done. We are both running out of energy, and all our moves are starting to slow down and loss their strength. Finally I saw a chance, Mia is unbalanced on her left foot from me hitting her earlier. So I take this chance. I come at her from her right side, she moves her body to dodge the hit, forcing her put all of her weight on her left foot, and that is when I sweep her feet right form under her. Mia landed on her back hard, and didn't get up. I had won.

" Good job kids." dad said," Danny you did very well knowing your opponent's next move and using it against them. Mia you need to be more quick and aware of the weaknesses you have and how to fix them."

" Yes, dad." we both said, at the same time.

" Ok then, you can rest for a few moments then I have something special planed for later on. You both are dismissed." dad said with no emotions.

"Thank you." we both said again.

We both went to just sit on the grass in the clearing, and looking at the blue sky, now and then pointing out what the clouds looked like to one another. Mia and me have always been close, much closer than Dylan was to her. I guess Dylan didn't really listen to her that much, sure he still loves her and cares for her, but he doesn't know her like I do. Soon Dylan came over and sat down next to us. We all looked at the sky waiting for dad to come back. He finally cam back after some time.
