Chapter One: Adopted

After spending thirteen years in the adoption agency after my parents abandoned me. A couple walked into the agency and decided to adopt me, the women had beautiful short, thick, light blonde hair with crystal blue eyes and fair skin. The man had dark, thick brown hair with dark brown eyes and fair skin. Why they adopted me, I don't know. I don't get along with other kids. I sit alone in dark corners when the kids play. I even heard the guardian that was looking after us, saying that she suggested someone else. The couple started signing papers. I sat down in the chair, looked down, fiddled with my fingers and drifted back into dark thoughts... Do you know how it's like to be Depressed, utterly, broken, confused and worthless? I have, and that's how I felt everyday at the orphanage. Watching people getting adopted and feeling rejected. 'How could anyone possibly want me?' Being hit and slapped by the other children. Telling me to kill myself, saying I was a lesbian, calling me a goth, saying I'm worthless, unwanted, broken and unloved. They made me feel inhuman. As if I was a caged animal. They would punch and kick me. I still have bruises and scars to prove so. One time I ended up in hospital for two weeks. I drifted further into thought. And I heard voices, as if they were far away, but they are actually so near. Your vision closes in, you can't see straight. Until, you finally get snapped back into reality. The couple told me to call them Mum and Dad. I wasn't going to call them that. I don't want parents, from what I've learnt, they pretend to love you and then one day, they leave you.

I'd call them Boss 1 and 2. Number 1 being the Dad and number 2 being the Mum. I didn't make eye contact. I don't want to make eye contact. 'Dad' opened up my door for me, I slipped in and slid on my seatbelt. Keeping my head down, 'Dad' and 'Mum' also slipped into the car and slid on their seat belts. 'Dad' asked me if I had any interests or hobby's. I told him that I had none, then rolled my eyes saying, 'unless trying to be invisible is a hobby.' Mum and Dad nervously laughed, I looked out the window and lent on the window cill. Rain started to drizzle from the clouds into the streets. People where either holding umbrellas, had raincoats on or were running to the nearest shelter as fast as they could. It's been a very long time since I've been in a car, and worst of all, I wasn't making a good first impression. I leaned my head into the door, I stared outside of the window and fell into deep sleep.

I woke up to doors slamming shut. It was Mum and Dad, getting out of their car. I looked down and tears started running down my face, remembering all the horrible words people had said to me, what they had done to me. 'Stupid!' 'Useless!' 'Eww!' 'Your face is ugly!' 'Gothic nobody!' 'Nobody wants you! So do the world a favour and lull yourself!' 'Nobody likes you! I don't blame them... Your not someone likeable.' I still felt the punching, kicking, scratching and slapping. Before I knew it, what seemed like waterfalls streamed down my face.

Mum and Dad opened my door to find this, Mum kneeled down in front of me and frowned, "Oh darling, what's wrong?" Dad kneeled down behind Mum, they both looked concerned. That had never happened to me before. Nobody used to care. So why do they?

Dad picked me up and I lent my head over his shoulder, "It's okay darling, Daddy is here." I'm not a baby Dad. But, the comfort felt nice. "C-can you put me down quickly?" I asked. Dad nodded, he held my hand and mum did to. We walked inside, my eyes looking everywhere. I'd never been in a home before. I've only seen them from the outside. I saw a kitchen, lounge and dining room. Dad pulled me towards the upstairs, there were five doors. I needed to explore all of them. I told my parents that and they were okay with it, they told me that they would be downstairs if I needed anything. I needed to be loved. To feel worth something, anything. But I can't tell them that.

Door 1 was a bathroom, the toilet and sink were white and were facing each other near to the door. On top of the sink was a framed mirror, the frame was white. Behind the toilet and sink was a bath tub, white as well. The bathroom was completely tile, the tile was also white. I went across from door one to door two, opened the door and there was a room, it was so pretty, it had a big princess type bed, makeup sets, mirrors, a huge walk in wardrobe. In front of the bed lied a big pink beanbag. Behind the bed was a nice big window, beside the bed was a big window to.

Door 3 was another room, it had a big king size bed with a dresser and a mirror on top of it. Large windows beside the bed and it lead to door four, which was a bathroom. Door five, I carefully opened the door, it was a dark room. It had one small window beside the single bed. Beside the single bed was a large black beanbag and in front of the beanbag was a large TV. There was a walk in wardrobe beside the TV.  Then in front of the single bed lay a black long desk with a really cool computer and beside the computer was a monitor. There lay a large keyboard and mouse mat across the table, on top of the mat was a large keyboard that kept changing colours and a black mouse. I loved this room. It was dark.

Mum and Dad came upstairs and into room 5. "D--B-- Can I please have this room?" I couldn't urge myself to sad Dad, but Boss 1 sounded worse. Mum and Dad looked at each other for a faint second they nodded to each other. Parents must have some kind of telepathic connection. They leaned over towards me, "on one condition." Dad paused, "You call us Mum and Dad from now on." They world sank, M-mum and Dad? My vision was blurry their voices sounded far away I fell and passed out. I woke up in Mum and Dad's bed. They were both gone, a phone buzzed. There was a text, 'Morning sweetheart - I hope you get this. This is your new phone - play around with it today if you like, for now, only for safety reasons, do not download any social media and Dad and I will be your ONLY contacts until further notice. Maybe in a week or two we can get you set up with social media and you can add your friends, but I just want you to be able to contact us for now, in case you want to know where anything is. By the way sweetie the password for the computer is, password, until you would like to change it. Love you, see you tonight - Mum.' Wow, the whole house to myself, wait, how did Mum know I only just woke up? I checked the message, wait, it was sent over an hour ago. The phone was buzzing to tell me that it was still there. I nervously laughed in my head. I got up and walked over to my hopefully-soon-to-be-room and saw clothes in the cupboard they were dark clothes, a black hoodie with black jeans, a black flap cap, some dark sneakers and... Women stuff.

I placed on my bra and panties. Put on the socks, took the jeans and pulled them up to my waist, got the hoodie and pulled it over my head letting it to hand over down to the top of my jeans. Afterwards putting on the cap then placing the hoodie on top of the cap. I put on the sneakers and tied the laces, grabbed my phone and went downstairs, I walked over to the kitchen and pulled out my phone, I texted Mum, 'Hey Mum, do you have any cereal? If you do - please tell me where it is and the cutlery.' I waited about a minute and then got the text back, 'Hey sweetie! Glad to see your up! If you don't have clothes on - there are some in your room - your room (by the way) is the one facing ours with the computer and TV with only one window. The cereal is in the second cupboard up top and the cutlery is in the third draw down. Love you - mum.' I texted back, because that's polite to say thank you. 'Thanks mum! Having some cereal now - have a good day at work - tell dad I send him some love. See you soon...' They didn't give me a name, and my forms don't have a name signed on them. I came up with my own name, I called myself Ellie. Ellie Walkers (because walkers is my new parents last name.) I continued the text, 'Sending love, Ellie.' And sent the text. I got out the cereal, milk and spoon, I made some cereal and sat down by the TV. I turned the TV on and it had Netflix up and running. Netflix... Netflix? I saw a bunch of movies... MOVIE MARATHON! I though inside of my head, I tried to explore the cupboards a bit more and I found popcorn! How fantastic! I made popcorn and closed all the curtains, I ate some popcorn, I picked up my phone and took a picture, I sent to photo to Mum and Dad in our family chat. 'Movie Marathon!' And... Send.
