Just a fair warning, this might be shorter than the previous chapter.

Third Person's POV

Elaine knocks on the door quietly. Knuckles white, she clenches her fist to ease the nervousness that has been controlling her mind. Her eyes are puffy and red from crying. Before wasting any minute of standing there, she quickly puts on the glamour. Her scars fade and all you could see is her pale skin.

"Come in," says a cold, steely voice that sends shivers down her spine. She then enters the Potions classroom, which is filled with cauldrons of sizes and tables that have spilled potions on them.

"Professor—" Elaine begins, but her Professor in Potions, Professor Snape, raises a hand in front of her.

"Clean the cauldrons and table," he instructs, and adds, "With no magic."

Elaine never truly cares about the detention. She's more nervous about what her housemates would think, because first of all, she just lost fifty points, all thanks to the traitor Lelia. And then, she made her a professor angry at her, a Ravenclaw! And not just any professor, but Professor Snape himself!

While cleaning, her inner demons laugh at her, and call her names. They tell her to cut, to die, because no one even cares, and no one loves her.

Her wrists start to itch, the urge to put the cold blade to her skin controls half of her brain. Elaine fights it away because she can't have a breakdown here! After what seems like hours, her task is complete. She wants to smile at her work, but her head spins and once again the voices make a return. And it stopped when Someone called her name.

Severus Snape has never been this angry before. Especially to a Ravenclaw. Seeing one of his students get called as a "bitch" and "traitor", he knew he had to give detention and take fifty points for that. But in an instant, he regretted it. He shouldn't have took fifty points from the girl's house, but his anger took control of him.

He grades the essays of the 3rd years, scowling at the poorly written assignments. He noticed that one of the Ravenclaws didn't give his or her assignment. He faces at the girl who received detention for five days just a few hours ago.

"Miss Riley," he calls out, but she doesn't seem to respond. He calls her once again, this time a bit more aggressive and colder. Elaine's grey eyes shot up from the ground and frantically looks at her surrounding to find the source of the voice. Her eyes that show panic land on his, and most of the panic flee from her eyes.

Severus observes her strange demeanor. He decides to investigate on it some time later, and proceeds with his question.

"Did you submit your assignment?" His stony voice rings into Elaine's ears. She bites her lips and shakes her head rapidly. Severus frowns at the girl's answer, and asks why.

Elaine doesn't answer, for fear that Reese might beat her up, maybe even start throwing hexes at her. Why does life has to be so hard? She asks herself.

Severus, being a Legilimens, hears her thoughts as if she was saying it out loud. His eyes enlarges a bit, but it returns to its normal steel glare. Elaine hangs her head low, and puts a piece of paper on his table and withdraws out of the classroom.

The Potions master views his classroom, and it is clean once more. He grabs the piece of paper and reads.

The erasure bothers him, but he keeps it aside for further research.

It may be late at night, but here she is, in the room of requirements, brewing her Draught of Painless Death, the Suicide Potion. There are a lot of work areas with different nameplates, like on of them belongs the professor of potions in it. Only hers is hidden from sight.

The liquid color turns into a deep purple, and she pours some of it in four flasks. She places them into a tube rack, and cleans up her work.

Step one - create four flasks of the Draught of Living Death.

With her blue notebook, she leaves the room and heads back to her dorm.
