Promise Ring

It's Spring Break for your college. And this year you're going to spend it with Niall in Mullingar, Ireland, other wise known as his home town. You've just settled into his house and the two of you are watching some movies together on the couch. You're watching the Avengers movie, you have quite an interest in the Marvel movies.

"Watch this, watch this!" You squeal at one part of the movie.

Hulk picks up Loki and starts swinging and bashing him around Tony Stark(Ironman)'s penthouse at the top of Stark enterprise. The both of you start laughing hysterically at the scene.

"Haha, that's so, haha, fucking hilarious, haha!" Niall says through his laughter.

"I know!" You manage out through your laughter.

You watch the rest of the movie and are silent once the credits have finished. You feel a little tired and start to doze off a little.

"Hey, don't sleep yet. I need to talk to you." Niall says, nudging you.

"Ok, what do you want to talk about?" You say as you sit up straighter and sit criss-cross-applesauce in front of him.

"Come here though first." He motions you to sit on his lap. You crawl across the couch and sit in his lap, your back to him.

"So, what do you need to talk to me about?" You ask once you're comfortable.

"Well, I was just wondering, what do you want to do once you're out of college? Besides look for a job."

"Um... Well, obviously spend time with you. Of course get married someday and maybe have a kid or two. Basically just settle down once I know my job is stable. Just begin my new life."

"And who would you want to spend your new life with? Have those kids with?"

You look up at him and smile and say, "With you, if we're still together. We have been together for a couple years. But I know we will be. I love you very much, Niall James Horan. Honestly, I think I would want to spend the rest of my life with you. I couldn't picture myself with anyone or being happy with anyone else."

"Really? Cause I love you too. I also want to spend my whole life with you. So, here's a question," Niall reaches into his sweater pocket and holds a closed fist in front of you, "promise me that one day you'll agree to marry me when the time is right and just, spend a whole life together?" He opens his fist to reveal a little promise ring. A promise ring to promise to be in his life for a long time. Not like an engagement ring, but less of a strong commitment.

"Yes, I'll make that promise! I'll keep it! I will, I mean I'll never break it!" Niall takes your hand and slips the ring on your finger. It slides on and fits just perfectly.

"I knew you wouldn't say no, (Y/N). I love you so much." He says and you can hear the smile in his voice.

You turn your and look up at his glowing with happiness face. Niall leans down and plants a kiss on your lips, a soft, passionate one.

"I love you." You whisper against Niall's lips.

"I love you too."
