Jacky

“Where the hell are you taking me?” I questioned about half way through our drive. We had already been driving for about twenty minutes and I was kind of getting annoyed at the distance. I wasn’t a huge fan of driving.

“You’ll see! Now, just keep driving,” he commanded. I of course did as I was told since I really had no other choice. I just kept thinking that this better be good after all this travel time.

Another twenty minutes pasted and finally he told me to stop. My car sat in front of a large field. I gave him a very confused looked which caused him to chuckle. He really owed me for this one.

“You can see the stars really good from here,” he explained like that made everything better. He gestured to the sky and got out of the car. I let out a sigh, but followed his action and climbed out.

He had already laid down in the grass and was motioning for me to join him. I did as he wanted and planted myself in the grass. The lack of light caused me to misjudge the distance between us and I ended up being a lot closer to him that I had meant. I wasn’t really complaining, though. I kind of liked being this close to him. Being around him made me feel safe for some reason.

When I looked up at the pitch black sky, I realized this had been worth the forty minute drive. The sky was absolutely breathtaking. I had never seen anything like it. I had never even known this place existed.

“Wow, this is gorgeous,” I said softly, breaking the comfortable silence that had fallen over us. I was actually glad he had brought me here, even if I had wanted to kill him in the drive here.

“Just like you,” he replied. The comment took me by surprise. I hadn’t had a guy tell he thought I was ‘gorgeous’ in a very long time and coming from Brian, it made it ten times more shocking.

Then, he did something else that was very surprising. He leaned over to me and pressed his lips against mine. The kiss was unlike anything I had ever experienced. It was a hundred times better than Jake’s kisses. His lips felt so perfect up against mine. It felt so right to be kissing him. His lips felt so soft against mine and it just felt so… amazing. I never wanted him to pull away.

Unfortunately, he did after a few moments. “Jacky, I love you. I’ve loved you since I saw you in the crowd four years ago and I never stopped loving you even after we stopped talking,” he admitted, propping himself up on his elbow so he could get a betting look at me. I couldn’t take my eyes off of his. The confession made me realized that I loved him too. I had never thought he loved me back, but right then, I knew he was talking the truth.

“I love you, too, Brian,” I replied honestly. I then reached up to give him another kiss before settling back into the grass. I couldn’t imagine loving anyone more than the way I loved him at that moment and I had never felt so much love in return.
