"Please Bri!" My sister emphasizes her plea, "just hear me out!" the desperation is clear in her voice.
I can picture my twin sister giving me her infamous puppy dog look - the one that could make anyone weak at their knees. I fight the urge for several seconds, but in the end, I'm not able to fight the urge.
"What is it this time?" I ask, cursing under my breath at my lack of mental strength.
There's a pause in the conversation and as I fiddle with the hem of my shirt, I grow anxious.
"I need you to pretend to be me for awhile." Elizabeth states simply.
I'm taken aback at first, not at the task she's presented me with, but the urgency laced through her voice.
"What's the catch?" I question skeptically, knowing better than to just go along with what she says - there was always a catch with Elizabeth, whether she wants to admit it or not.
I hear her let out a sigh and after a few seconds of complete and utter silence, she speaks up.
"Nobody can know you're not really me." She adds.
Biting my lip, I ask myself if I can pull this off. Logically, it shouldn't be a problem - we look exactly alike. But mentally, I don't know if I'll be able to handle this.
Peer pressure weighs in heavily as I make my decision and before I have time to rationally think this over, the words are flying out of my mouth.
"Fine." I agree.
"Thank you so much, Bri!" She squeals, joy radiating off of her. "You won't regret this, I promise!"
I want to tell her that she's wrong - that I will, most definitely regret this. But I'm not given the chance, as the next thing I know, the dial tone can be heard from the other side of the line.
I won't regret this my arse.
