October 30, 1997
My name is Anothny B. I am 14 and live in New Hope, Pennsylvania a small town, population a little over 1,000 with cold winters and mild summers. I live with my father, Tate Bathern and my mom, Ashley Bathern. We live on a farm with a few pigs, cows, chickens, and a cute colony of mice under the pipe, along with a massive wheat and corn field. My best friends, Billy and Chris, live about two miles away on their own farms. It is almost Halloween, I don't understand the point of knocking on people's doors for candy while dressed up as one of those weird zombies. Maybe its because I grew up in a farm, or i'm not a city boy, but halloween is not really a big thing since I live on a farm where the nearest house is about 2 miles away.. I have 2 best friends, Chris A, and Billy P, I have known them for years. They don't think much about halloween either, but as to be a "normal" kid, we get together at my house for halloween for a contest on who can celebrate it the best by scaring each other, bringing the best costumes and more. It's tomorrow and Billy and I have a brilliant idea how to freak out Chris. We have a Skeleton and Scarecrow costume. This is gonna be a blast!
October 31, 1997, 4:30 PM
I'm waiting for Billy and Chris to come over. The house is decked out with pumpkins, decorations, and candy for a "scary" time. My parents are going out for the night to other places so we are going to have no rules at all. I see Billy walk up and we both head into the house to prepare to scare Chris. Around 5:40 Chase gets in the door quietly at first, then he calls for us and Billy and I get ready to pounce, but i'm laughing to hard in the kitchen that the second I get ready to Chris....Chris...... I look around only to meet a Zombie mask going on my face. I did not think it was possible for me to scream louder than my mother when she meets a spider but I did. Eventually Chris and Billy were rolling on the floor laughing when I stood there trying to catch my breath. Then we eventually all started laughing.
We all ate pizza for dinner then started eating every piece of candy we can find in the house. Chris keeps joking that we should stop, except we never do. So eventually it got dark and we came up with the creepiest stories we could come up with. We made masks to go into the fields to scare the little kids. Their reactions were worth it. One kid got so scared he wet his pants and left a trail. Around 9 O'clock Billy goes into the bathroom and we can almost hear explosions in there.
No one could have predicted what happend next.
