Ophelia's POV
When Enoch's dolls had died, everyone's, except for us peculiars, jaws dropped.
"I'm Fiona and I can control and grow plants," Fiona said, throwing seeds on the floor and making them grow into a beautiful rose bush.
"I'm Horrace and I can project my dreams. Sometimes I can see the future," Horrace said.
"I'm Olive. I can control fire," Olive said, making a fireball appear in her hand.
"Who's the freak with the multi-coloured hair," the bushy-haired girl sneered, walking up to the front. "My names Hermione Granger, just so you know. Maybe you can come by my room later," Hermione said, tracing her finger down Enoch's chest.
"Uh. No thanks. I have a girlfriend," Enoch replied, grabbing my hand and pulling me to his chest.
"Now, we have to have a sorting ceremony for the peculiars and Mrs Peregrine will be starting a new class about Peculiars and their history," Professor Dumbledore said, throwing a sharp glare towards Hermione. An old lady, in emerald robes and an emerald hat, walked out to the front and sat down a stool, with three legs, and an old, tatty hat. She grabbed the hat and opened a scroll.
"Olive Abroholos Elephanta," the woman exclaimed. Olive went and sat down on the chair, the old legs wobbling, even though she didn't weigh much. A crease appeared in the hat, making it look like it had a mouth. The crease opened and the hat screamed,
"Hufflepuff!" I jumped backwards, before chuckling a bit.
"Fiona Frauenfeld." Fiona walked up to the front, a small trail of blue flowers following, behind her.
"Gryffindor!" She jumped of the stool and skipped over to the table decorated in red, a large grin taking over her features.
"The twins." Both the twins went up to the front, sitting on one half of the stool each. The lady placed the hat on both of their heads.
"Gryffindor!" The twins slowly walked over to the table and seated themselves next to Fiona.
"Claire Densmore." Claire walked up to the front, her pink, frilly dress bouncing.
"Ahh! Ouch! Hufflepuff!" The hat shrieked, after Claire had accidently bitten it.
"Millard Nullings." The invisible boy walked up to the front, taking his hat off and placing the tatty, pointed hat upon his invisible head.
"Slytherin!"
"Hugh Apiston." Hugh smiled, a couple of bees escaping from the crevasses of his mouth. He mimicked the others by walking up to the front and placing the hat on his head.
"Hufflepuff!"
"Horace Sumnusson."
"Ravenclaw!"
"Enoch O'Connor."
"Slytherin!"
"Bronwyn Bruntley."
"Gryffindor!"
"Emma Bloom."
"Ravenclaw!"
"Jacob Portman."
"Gryffindor!"
"Ophelia Lucia McRoy." I walked over to the stool and the hat was placed on my head.
"Slytherin!" I walked over to the Slytherin table and sat down, next to Enoch.
"Luke Bailey Fernanand."
"Gryffindor!"
"Mary Joeanne Kaly."
"Slytherin!"
"Jane Aspyn Demensy."
"Slytherin!"
"Jared Arthur Thomas."
"Hufflepuff!"
"Jackson Lucifer Greenoff."
"Slytherin!"
"Melissa Skye Cartige."
"Ravenclaw!"
"Lola Stacy Werekin."
"Slytherin!"
"Cornelius Harry King."
"Ravenclaw!"
"Amelia Natalie Confade."
"Hufflepuff!"
"Severus James Callaghan." A teacher, with black greasy hair, looked up and his dark brown, almost black, eyes widened and he inaudibly gasped.
"Slytherin!"
Suddenly, everyone stood up.
"Let us sing the school song for our peculiar guests and the children from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang," Proffesor Dumbledore shouted and everybody started singing, at their own pace.
"Hogwarts! Hogwarts!
Hoggy warty Hogwarts!
Teach us something please!
Weather we be old and bald,
Or young with scabby knees.
Our heads could do with filling,
With some interesting stuff.
For now they're bare and full of air,
Dead flies and bits of fluff.
So teach us things worth knowing;
Bring back what we've forgot.
Just do your best, we'll do the rest,
And learn until our brains all rot."
The last people to finish were two identical, red-headed twins, singing the song at a slow pace, like they were at a funeral.
