"I heard Clara is throwing another New Years party this year. Are we going, or what?" Addison, the bitchiest girl of NorthBridge High and also one of my best friends, was checking her phone for the fifth time this morning to get updates for the New Years party almost all of the seniors at our school went to.
Addison was the it girl of our high school, considering she had gorgeous, soft brown flowing hair that was always cut at the middle of her back and icy blue eyes that could tear down anybody who dared to try and get to her level. The only people she actually liked were the four of us, Cali, Lauren, Sarah, and me.

"Hell yes! Where else would we go?" Cali pumped her fists in the air.

Cali was a party animal. Her favorite times of year were Halloween and New Years, simply because everyone was out throwing some kind of party. She was the definition of "blondes have more fun".

"We could just stay at your house and steal your parents wine, Addison." Lauren snarled gracefully.

Lauren was the most beautiful girl in NorthBridge High anybody had ever seen. With her long, light brown curled hair and big, grey eyes, nobody could argue she wasn't pretty.

"Speak for yourself, Lauren. The party sounds fun." Sarah, the new girl of our friendship, was ready to experience all the things that popular girls did.

Her wavy auburn hair was the jealous bane of every girl I had ever talked to, and her green eyes were the color of the envy everybody had for her. We all took complete advantage of her because she was new, but she was learning fast and even I was impressed.

We were sitting in the gigantic cafeteria, where they served the most amazing iced mochas anyone that went here preferred them from here than Starbucks.

"Maybe Ali will finally find a guy." Addison smirked at me as all the other girls laughed. Even though I loved Addy, she could be really mean to each of us, always finding our insecurities and using them against us. She was no doubt the top dog.

"You know very well I'm not looking for a guy, Addison. I have way to much going on in my life to handle having somebody close." I smiled, thinking about all the plans I had prepared for this summer. It was our senior year, and I was hoping my last summer break would top off the rest. I had been working on some designs for a contest a huge fashion industry was holding, and I had high hopes for winning.

"Not even just an end of school love? Come on Ali." Sarah shook her head at me.

"I'm just not interested. Now what are we going to wear to the party? The dresses from last year?" I said, hoping it would take all the attention off me.

"Where is Ali and what have you done with her? Of course we're going shopping for new dresses!" Addison lightly hit me and went back to her phone.

I knew exactly where we were going after school...

Classes went by quickly since break was only a few days away and the teachers could care less. We all met up after school and piled into our carpool of the day Mercedes, which belonged to Lauren's mom.

"Ground rules; you can't show each other your dresses. It's kind of like secret Santa, except Christmas will have already passed by then." Addison shoved us off into the new Burberry shop in the mall.

I was supposed to chose a dress for Cali, whose personality would definitely fit a backless dress that was cut just above the butt. Sure, it was the middle of winter, but she would survive.
