Erethral Wolves

Chapter Two:

The howling whispers echo ever so softly over the surface of the ocean causing the waters ripples to dance with the moonlight. The Emerald Forrest suddenly fills with an eerie, dark, swampy green fog never seen before in the realm.  A deep heavy thud shakes the entire ground, causing the water ripples to rise higher and higher with each soul searching thud. The ground shaking mimics that of a heart beating. The howling whispers quickly turn to vulnerable whimpers mixed with deep elongated gasps and grunts, like that of a wolf having a night terror.  A boulder is shaken lose by a final loud thud causing it to fall into the shape shifting water. Instantaneously, the air is charged with pulses of tiny green bolts as it takes shape of something... evil. The soul piercing whimpers become a very familiar howl. Tikaani rolls over and jumps to her feet snarling, paws splayed out under her. Her claws instantly pierce the ground causing yellow sparks to be emitted from every claw, charging her magnificent light coat with a familiar yellow glow, her eyes glittering. She has woken from a rapid, heart thumping, dark dementing night terror.  It was the howl of her mate Roukan. Tikaani, still gasping and panting for air from the night terror, notices the green fog settling and circling around her. She frantically leaps away from the fog and begins sprinting towards the cliffs. The fog now fully charged, it shoots upwards and pierces the night sky in a determined pursuit of its prey.  The moon goes black behind it, as it is smothered silently. The entire Emerald Forrest fills with the howls of countless wolves. The trees whistle frightened and sad in unison, their nightly glow diminishing. Frantically running, swerving through the trees, dodging the swipes of the fog at her heels, Tikaani is fearing for her life. Fearing what will become of her should this unknown beast get her. Even more so, she is in fear for the lives of her unborn pups.
