BEEP!!!BEEP!!!BEEP BEEP BEEP!!!
I rub my tired eyes and reach for my phone to turn off the stupid alarm. My brown hair is sprawled out everywhere on my head and I'm pretty sure I look like a raccoon, considering the fact that I didn't take off my eyeliner from last night after an exhausting day at work.
It takes me everything to get my lazy butt out of bed and change to go to work. Oh, fun(a/n: note the saracasm) Working at a bar was definitely not what I had planned when I graduated high school.
I always dreamed of doing something great and extraodinary with my life. I always wanted to make a difference in this big world, but here I am . . . Getting ready for work at Charlie's Sports Bar. Now don't get me wrong, I like where I work, but I don't love it. I would've gone to college, but there was a horrible tragedy and i dont want to revisit old wounds and scars persay.
I roll off of my queen sized bed and end up taking the comforter with me. I shake off the light blue blanket and slump my way to the bathroom. I look in the mirror above the sink to prove my suspicions correct. I look like a freaking raccoon! The black smudges surround my brown eyes. I have a pimple on my left cheek, but luckily my freckles.that are already surrounding my cheeks camoflauge it in a sense.
I walk over to the living room of my small apartment and sit down on the tan comfortable couch. I look at the clock to see it's 5:00 p.m. I have to be at work at 6:30 p.m. so I have plenty of time. Why did I have to have the late shift?
I get up from the couch and make my way to the bathroom. I turn on the shower and wait. Once the water is warm enough for my liking, I hop in and wash my hair and body. The warmth of the water relaxes and soothes me. It's almost too relaxing. I know myself all to well, so I hop out before I'm late to work.
I quickly dry my damp body and then place the towel over my wet brown hair. I feel wide awake now:)
I rush to my bedroom and put on my unfashionable work clothes. I button up my black shirt and zip the zipper on my maroon colored skinny jeans. I put my black fuzzy socks on and I walk to the small kitchen which is basically connected to the living room.
My eyes glance at the digital clock to see it's 5:46 p.m. I decide to make something small that's still filling to my hungry stomach. Cabinets are opened and closed until I find it . . .the marvelous peanut butter. I go to the fridge and take out the sweet bosenberry jelly and while I'm at it, I grab the bread on top of the fridge.
I finish making my glorious sandwhich and eat it on my way to my room. With the sandwich in my mouth, I grab my black vans and put them on. I finish eating my meal and decide to put on some perfume. You gotta smell good for the paying customers ;)
After all that chaos, I'm ready to go. One more look at the clock and . . . It's 6:15 on the dot. Looks like I'm going to be early. You see, I live only a few blocks from work. It's pretty awesome, but I still wish I had some other job. It's not exactly fun having drunk guys hit on you every single night.
I grab my house keys and a bottle of water and head to the bar.
I walk down the stairs and to the lobby.
" Hey Elizabeth!"
I turn to see who said my name and find the sweet voice of my lovely neighbor Gracie. Her blonde hair was perfectly wavy with a smudge of blue at the tips of her hair. Her green eyes glistened in the light and her pale skin had a rosy tint to it, especially on her cheeks.
"Oh, hey Gracie!"I respond back. She is really sweet and kind. I absolutely love having her as a neighbor.
Once we exchange our hellos and goodbyes, I look down at my phone to see it's 6:20.
