Elizabeth's POV
My arms were sore from all of the tiring and weary assignments Charlie had given me. He always gives me the tedious chores, but I guess that means he trusts me. Or all the other lazy employees won't do their work. Either way, I end up doing just about everything. Cleaning and stacking shot glasses to Scrubbing the bar squeaky clean, I did it. And the strange thing is, is that Harry stared at me with his burning dark green eyes intensely. It was definitely creepy and odd. I knew very little about him, but that I think is what intrigued me. He would turn his head when we met eye contact, but I could see him staring in the corner of my eyes when I would go back doing what I had been previously doing.
I tried to get everything done without to much trouble, but Harry's staring was throwing me a little off guard. Is he angry with me? Does he not like me? Am I that ugly? All these antagonizing questions kept popping into my mind. What was he thinking and why is he staring?
"Are you alright Liz?" Jasmine asked me, bringing me out of my deep thoughts.
"Yea." I smiled. "Just a little tired that's all." I didn't like lying to people, but at the same time, I didn't want anybody knowing my secret thoughts. I wanted them to stay safe and sound in my over-working brain.
Jasmine had bright blue eyes and enchanting brown hair. She was extraordinarily charismatic and loving. She was one of the few people who worked here that actually did something beside chat around with customers and eat in the break room.
She stared at me for awhile with concern plastered on her pale skinned face.
"Are you sure?" She gave me a heart-warming smile and gently patted my shoulder.
"Yea." Was all that came out of my mouth. I wanted to say no, but that would cause Jasmine to turn into 'mommy' mode. She would be the perfect mom, but you need a decent man to be in your life to do so and Jazzy wasn't smart at choosing great guys. The first boyfriend of hers dumped her over text-message, the second hit her and she had to call police to handle the heart-breaking incident. The third one was actually married!. Crazy right? But that was Jazzy's historical love life.
"Okay." And with that she went back to bartending.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After a hard day at work, it was almost closing time. Five more minutes and I would be out and soon laying on my heavenly bed. Harry and Gemma left around 8:00 p.m. Gemma probably had enough of sitting on a painful barstool and watching the series of T.V's hanging around the decently sized bar and Harry probably got tired of staring at yours and truly. That just really creeps me out.
I pushed these re-occurring thoughts out of my exhausted head and I went back to wiping down the splattered alcohol and food on the stained bar. 'Three more minutes' I repeated in my mind.
"Liz!!!" Charlie yelled fro his office. His workspace was right next to the back employee exit. It wasn't to big and it wasn't to small. It was perfect. I walked in nervously, almost scared. Nervous that I was in trouble and scared that Charlie was angry, but why would he be angry and why would I be in trouble? I always ask myself the strangest things and I'm pretty sure I'm borderline crazy. I mean who ask themselves these many inquisitive questions.
"You called, sir?' I said innocently as possible.
He started laughing a little. What?
"No matter how many times I tell you, you still do it." What is he talking about? Oh my god! I did do something wrong. I am in trouble! Oh my God!
