CHAPTER 5

NINA'S POV

jack and i finally walk out of the school and walk to his car.

"my car is the jeep." he says.

"your car, oh my god. it's so pretty like you." i say.

"nope, like you." he says and smiles.

jack walks to me and opens the car door for me.

"what a gentleman." i say.

"that's what i am." he says.

"ready to go?" he asks.

"ready." i say.

"jack?" i ask.

"yes?" he replies.

"what's your number?" i ask.

i give him my phone and he puts it in while we're at a stop sign and sets his name to 'jack gilinsky ❤️'

how cute.

i turn on the radio and sing to 'starving' by hailee streinfeld.

—skips car ride—

"we're here." jack says.

"finally. i'm starving and i love panda express so much. how'd you know?" i ask.

"i asked haley." he laughs.

"of course she knows." i laugh.

we walk together and see sammy waiting.

"finally." sammy says and roll his eyes.

we all walk in and wait in line. which is tragic.

i finally order.

"what would you like, pretty lady?" the ordering guy asks.

i see jack's face turn red.

"can i have a plate and orange chicken, beef & broccoli, and chow mein. please." i ask.

"anything to drink?" he asks.

"water is fine." i say.

"here you go, $15.47 is your total." he says.

"i'm paying." jack says.

"thank you." i mouth to him.

he smiles.

"i'm paying for 3 of their meals." jack says.

i grab my food, water, and find a table.

i picked a table and waited for the guys.

—5 minutes—

i finally see them walk here.

jack sits next to me and sammy sits in front of me.

jack hands me chopsticks and says "i thought these would come in handy."

"thanks." i smile
