The air grew insanely tense. Time seemed to fly by in slow motion. Anna was screaming at me, but I couldn't make out a single word.
I took at deep breath, clearing my mind of anything to focus on one thing. The heat.
I rolled my head then my wrist and last my ankles. As if On instinct, I positioned myself into a low slightly crouching stance.
I can feel it, the energy flowing through my veins pooling in my chest. I must focus on that sensation, YES! There it is! My power!
It exploded all around me, scorching any and everything in its path. All I can hear is the crackle of the flames licking the sky in a delicate dance of red and orange.
I am free! This is me! I've never felt this before, but it feels so right. The flames were a beautiful scorching flower blooming with heat and destruction.
I never wanted it to end! Unfortunately for me the high of it began to wear off. Anna was yelling something to me.

"Stop.........fire............burning!"

This snapped me to my senses. When did I close my eyes? Well this certainly opened them, a tree it the feild had been caught in my "demonstration". Anna was flipping out trying to get my attention to stop. Everything was still so fuzzy.
My head lolled to the side looking confused in her direction. I could barely make out what she was yelling at me. The blur of it all was still wearing off trying to comprehend the situation. My hands extended out in front of me as if on their own and dipped sideways in a graceful sweeping motion. It looked like the flames on that tree were peeled off by god himself and wadded it up to keep from sticking to any other surface.u
It was a massive ball of swirling flames and heat. Laura tossed her hands towards the sky and threw her hands back to her side. The massive death orb continued rocketing skyward until it reached higher atmosphere and sizzled out.
Across the field Anna plunked herself down on the ground. Even though she was over eighty yards away, I could she the expression of awe and confusion stitched on her face.
I myself was still in a confused state as to what the hell just happened? After a long pause of thinks I could only deduce with my expert opinion that I, Laura Trancy, could control heat.
What could this mean for my future? Why did I get this gift? Just yesterday I was mixing all the random substances in the fridge door to make the ultimate dipping sauce. I'm no hero! And I'm certainly no superhuman. This has all been one bog misunderstanding, it's got to be.
Anna finally snapped out of her dazed state and instead of running to me in excitement, she stood up and began backing off in the direction of the mansion. I reached my hand out to motion her to stop moving. With my heightened sight I could see her visibly flinch.
She was scared of me. My head drooped and she took the lack of attention as a sigh to dart back in side her house. I obviously had improved hearing because I could hear her bolt lock the door and stomp up the stairs, still gasping in shock.
I thought she would have been excited. Maybe she thought this was all a parlor trick to boil water with my bare hands. It was so much more, I could feel it. I could also feel my head begging to grow fuzzy again. My knees gave out from beneath me and all I saw were stars.

I felt cold, or at least my butt did. I woke up to a mostly dark room. Cavern? Anyway I have no idea where the heck I am.
"I'm glad you could finally make it number one." An unfamiliar voice echoed around the chamber.
"Who the hell is number one? My name is Laura." I spoke in a snarky tone. I couldn't help but snort at my own remark before my giggles were rudely interrupted.
"Silence! Why are you laughing? You're literally tied up in a dark castle and you have the audacity to laugh?" To be honest, who ever the voice was sounded extremely frazzled.
I thought I might as well humor the poor thing. "Look dude? Fella? Ok I don't want to assume your gender but that's besides the point. Sure I don't know where I am, but what good would it do if I freaked out and cried. I'm an ugly crier and nobody deserves to see that mess and did you say we're in a castle that's freaking dope!"
"For the love of all things good and pure! Shut up!" From behind me I could hear a light switch being flipped upwards. The room immediately flooded with light let me see where I was actually being held hostage.
It couldn't of been more disappointing. I was actually tied to a desk chair, that was missing the wheels I may add. The room was dinky with a cheap hotel suite look going on. Out steps a twenty something man with immaculate facial hair.
"I brought you here because of your powers, but you could've guessed already."
"What powers I don't know what you're talking about." I said trying to sound genuinely confused
"Oh ha ha, cut the crap I know you could have escaped that chair anytime you wanted." He was starting to cheer up from the grumpy persona, if only a little bit.
I decided to just comply and get out of that raggedy ass chair. Placing my hands on the ropes, I melted them off my wrist completely. They landed in a bunch behind the chair.
The still stranger began to chuckle behind me. He had seemed to catch me off guard as I didn't think a noise of such pleasure was possible from Mr. Grouch.
"So, would you care to tell me your name?"
"That isn't important right now." He said in what I dubbed his signature tone. "You should come with me to meet the others, they should be waking up any minute now."
           "Who are t-"
"Ah!" He cut me off and wagged a bony finger in my face.  "Questions last please. "
The monotonous stranger led be out of that shady suite and into a long corridor. I now believed him when he said this was a castle. We passed a number of windows displaying a breathtaking view of rolling grass hills. If you squinted hard enough you could faintly see the peaks of wave in what could only be the ocean.
I ran my fingers over the intricate  design of vines and flowers on the walls. This building was the most beautiful thing I had ever see and I've only walked down one hallway
"Oof!" I must not have been paying attention because I bumped right into slender man. He held his finger to his lips and gestures never through a large doorway.
It was slightly dark aside from a faint glow coming from the center of the room. My eyes began to adjust and I could see three fingers sitting in chairs with drooping heads. One of the strangers began to stir. It was the one that was, glowing?
She raises a glowing hand to her head and hissed in pain. She whispered something that sounded like it was only meant for her to hear. "Does anyone have an aspirin? My head hella hurts."
"I had one in my purse, but I don't know where that is." I spoke out to her. I also meant for Tom Riddle to hear just to throw a little shade. She threw her head up in shock, obviously she wasn't expecting an answer.
The light she was emotional was slowly intensifying as time continued.
"Who the hell are you?" She asked scared of me.
"I'm Laura, Laura Trancy. Pleased to make your acquaintance." I gave her an exaggerated curtsy to show her I didn't mean her any harm.
I jumped when Dracula interrupted our introduction. "Laura cover your eyes." I didn't have time to question him as he flicked on the lights.  I realized a moment too late why he told me. Miss iridescent was glowing brighter than a flash light to the face. She approached me hesitantly before reaching out and hand.
"It's nice to meet you Laura, I'm Casey."
