'Alice'
"I met a girl and I really thought she liked me,
I truly thought that I had met the one,
It was a fail,
To no avail,
I'm just another victim of the bad girls club."
My school alarm loudly woke me up from my dream, well, nightmare. I was running, again, this time it was from some men and women. I don't know why they were chasing me or what they wanted, but I wasn't the the only one running, there were others with me. I couldn't tell who they were or how many, but I knew that we had to get away.
"Sasha! Turn that music down or you'll wake the dead!" I snorted at the irony, silenced my alarm and rolled out of bed. See, the reason it's ironic is because of the fact that my dad has us trained for an apocalypse-like situation. Maybe he's crazy, maybe we're all crazy for going along with it, but hey, better be safe then sorry.
I opened my closet and picked out my outfit for the day. Dark green skinny jeans that looked faded and dusty on purpose, a light gray tank-top that had silver and gold swirls, clocks, and gears spelt 'freak' on it, with silver lace along the bottom of it. Then my black combat boots, that my dad had added hidden compartments in the thick rubbed soles, they also contained a four inch pocket knife strapped inside each boot. I styled my medium dirty blonde hair so that it was fluffed up and spiked a little in the back and sides. So much hairspray.
My accessories contained lots of necklaces and bracelets that looked rusted or old, with gears, clocks, scissors, lace, and other random fake trinkets with rough edges and swirls. I put on a thick gold band that went on my upper left arm. I also had some futuristic looking silver goggles with some gears on the sides that I placed on my head. And yes, they actually work, I use them in auto shop. I slipped on my black and tan fingerless leather gloves and my leather jacket over it all. I put a thick ring of eyeliner around my green eyes, then a brown eye shadow with white sparkly dust over it to fade it. I did my mascara thick and then put some deep red blush on to match my lip gloss. Tahdah.
Steam Punk.
I grabbed my backpack and ran downstairs, out the door, shouting a quick goodbye and I love you to my two younger brothers, mom and dad before they could stop me.
When I got to school I hopped off my motorcycle and went through my day as always, talking to some friends before I decided to go see the horror movie marathon after school that the theater was doing for a promotion thing with them.
Maybe this'll be fun, I'm getting tired of my father nagging me all the time. 'You have to be ready.' Nothing's gonna happen anyway so I'll be fine.
The final bell rang and I went to my locker, getting my stuff before seeing my girlfriend, Violet, making her way towards me.
"Ready to go Sash?" She smiled and I nodded, kissing her cheek softly.
"As I'll ever be." We walked out of the school hand in hand and hopped on my bike. The theater was outside our small Michigan village a bit, so it took awhile but once we reached it the place was in full swing. Getting our tickets was simple and went smoothly, but as we stood in line to get some popcorn I heard a deep voice say my name.
"Hey, Sasha, right?" I turned to see a built guy with letterman jacket from a neighboring school on his back standing in line behind me. "So you're the Rexton High freak."
"Oh so you've heard of me!" I rolled my eyes. This is why I'm tired of my family. It slipped that my father had us all prepared for an apocalypse and now everyone thinks I'm a fucking weirdo freak. I mean, I am, but not everyone needed to know.
