We arrived at his place. It was 5:50.
We were just in time.
As we go out of the car and onto the porch Chase stopped me and faced me towards him.
"My dads gonna be in there. I know you haven't met him yet, because he's always on business trips, but I really think he'll like you." Chase pulled me into a hug.
"Okay... Why are you hugging me.?" I was confused.
"I dunno- I just thought, let's just go inside." His face turned red and I laughed.
We walked through the front door. It was warm and the scent of peppermint filled the air. On the table were snacks neatly laid out, the fireplace was on giving off beautiful, fiery flames.
"Ahh, you're home." Kathy came and gave both of us a hug.
"Hey mum." Chase said.
"Hey Kathy." I responded.
She let go of us and pushed us towards the couch. The tv had the movie A Christmas Story playing on repeat.
"How was it up at White Mountain.?" Kathy asked as we say on the couch.
"It was really fun. It was my first time ever snowboarding." I smiled.
"But she snow boarded like she was a pro." Chase got out his phone and showed his mum pictures of my flips and tricks and a video.
"Wow, Ace are you sure this was your first time.?" She asked astonished.
"Yeah, I'm sure." I laughed.
"We also made three new friends." Chase said.
"Tony, Jackson and Derek." I added.
"At first they thought Ace was a guy because they've never seen a girl board like that before." He also added.
"Why that's just wonderful you guys made new friends." Kathy smiled.
"Yeah, it kind of is. But uh, hey mum where's dad.?" Asked Chase.
We heard footsteps coming down the stairs and there appeared a man in a white sweater shirt and khakis.
He sorta looked like Chase.
"Hello my son, how are you doing.?" His father asked.
"I'm doing well father, and you.?"
"Ah, I'm fine. Who's this.?" His father pointed at me.
"Father, this is Ace. She's actually living here with us. Ace this is my father, John." Chase introduced.
I held out my hand.
"It's nice to meet you Mr. Sakes." I gave a small smile.
We shook hands as he laughed.
"Ah, she has manners. Is she your girlfriend.?"
Chases face burned a bright red.
"Uh- um, not yet." Chase stuttered.
"Yet." Mr. Sakes winked at Chase.
The room filled with laughter.

After a few minutes of talking to eachother and getting to know one another, Chase stood up.
