The night was a dark shade of a bluish black color that painted the sky in its passionate wake to let the full moon shine down upon all of Paris. The lights that seemed to flood the city had all flickered on one by one, shrouding Paris to reveal its beauty. And the main event had, of course, been the Eiffel Tower itself in all its glory. Its tall looming presence was the main attraction of the city, and it was a place where lovers would come together.
Unbeknownst to the couples down below, admiring the tall attraction as the stars twinkled and teased them with their presence, Chat Noir and Ladybug had been at the very top, feeling a cool breeze brush against them. It was a truly magical night, and what would be more perfect than asking his lady out? It had been perfect. Just the two of them and the city down below.
Chat Noir was... nervous though. He had always been a flirtatious person when he was Chat Noir, but it was as if Adrien Agreste, his other half, was letting his feelings get the better of him; however, he would not let those petty feelings deter him from his love.
"My lady..." he started, feeling a tight knot form in his throat while the blue eyed beauty looked back at him, eyes a bit curious as to what he had to say.
"Yes... Chat?" She replied coolly, her eyes sparkling because of the lights around him. It had only made his cheeks flush and heart beat faster even more. Thank goodness that I have my mask... He thought that idly to himself, but even his mask could not hide away his feelings in his bright green orbs. "I... I want you to let me take you somewhere... nice, if you'll let me."
She stared at him for a moment, her corners of her lips slowly dipping downwards to reveal a small frown. A quiet sigh came from Ladybug, and those cruel words followed afterwards,"Chat.. you know we're just partners, and it can't be anything more-"
Her words were cut off as Chat Noir chuckled, acting as though he understood completely. But he didn't. What he and his lady shared was something deeper than just some partnership or comrades. Both of them knew that they held each other dearly in their hearts, yet Ladybug was too distracted with the model in her class to which Chat Noir wouldn't even realize. Until now.
"Don't worry about it. I had a feeling you'd say that, m'lady." He gave a small bow, hiding away his pain that was stirring in him, intensifying each moment.
The worst part about it is that Ladybug knew he was hurting inside. Each and everyday. Through every fight. Even in their conversations. It only made things worse as to why she continuously kept hurting him with rejections. Her heart had already been stolen by the green eyed boy in her class, but it pained her to see Chat Noir keep trying to win her over.
"I.. I'm sorry." That's all she could utter to him, and in turn, he turned away, folding his arms. His emotions were beginning to seep through, clearly revealing themselves in his body language and voice.
"...Is that it though? You keep..." he could barely form those words as they passed his lips, making his voice alter to one filled with pain,"rejecting me because we're partners? Are you sure that there's no other explanation?"
His claws dug into the black fabric that covered his arms, and he could only hope that she said yes because that meant he still had a small chance to earn his lady's love. But to his disappointment, she couldn't find the words to respond.
Chat Noir.. had never really asked about her personal life, and it caught her by surprise that he would ask her something like that. Even though it would make his pain grow, she would tell him the bitter, harsh truth. He needed to know, and if he did, maybe he'd stop chasing after her once and for all.
