In the Catholic Church, Grayson and her mother, Amalia, were lighting candles, and other people in the church were as well. They whispered about how their lives were going, and Gray expressed how much Donnie rambled on and on about New York. "I could not believe it!" Grayson exclaimed. "The whole night he was changing the subject. New York this, New York that!"
"What do you expect? His life is not your life." Amalia said, lighting another candle.
Gray wanted to stay in Vegas, but she wasn't so sure if she could convince Donnie to stay here. But she also wanted her mother to support her. "I thought you were on my side..."
"He has a family to support." Her mother says.
"We can do that here. We can do it together." Gray thought it was a great idea.
"Marriage is about finding a middle ground, " her mother said. "You have to learn to pick your battles."
Gray smiled shyly at her mother. "Well, I sure picked one this morning."
"Ay!" Amaila gasped, watching Gray stand up from the chair. "What did you do?"
"Nothing!" She replied. "I just had the guys drop by to take Donnie shooting."
"Donatello is alone with your brothers?" Amalia stood up from her chair, too.
"And Chuy." Gray grinned, walking out of the room.
"I better light another candle..." Her mother breathed out.

The Desert
Sitting in the bed of the truck, Donnie was with Gray's brothers, trying to get to know them. He sat between her friend, Chuy, and another one of her brothers. "So, Grayson says there's some pretty interesting canyons up here. One in particular, where people go to die. That's the other way, right?"
None of the men acknowledged what Donnie had said. "What's all of this talk about you taking Grayson to New York?" One of Gray's brothers asks.
"Oh, that's just an idea. It's nothing carved in stone or anything." Donnie confirmed.
"She won't go! I bet my life on it." Her brother, Juan, said to him.
"Ah, shucks, Juan!" Donnie exclaimed with a toothy smile. "No one here is expected to give up his life... don't you think, Chu?" He said, smirking at Chuy. "...y" He finished his name nervously.

Grayson & Lanie
While the boys were out attempting to have a great time in the desert, Gray and Lanie were out having tea and snacks while reading magazines and having the usual girl talk. "Hey, listen, by the way, what's it gonna be?" Lanie asked her, sipping on her drink. "Grayson Fuentes-Hamato or Grayson Hamato-Fuentes?"
As Grayson read her book of baby names, she slightly closed it. "That's Mrs. Donatello Hamato to you." She said happily.
"Pardon me." Lanie set her cup of tea down.
Then, at the next table was a young woman with a beautiful, slender figure. Her jaw dropped in shock as she turned in her seat to face Grayson and Lanie. "I'm sorry, excuse me." She said. "I didn't mean to eavesdrop. I couldn't help but overhear, but did you just say Donatello Hamato?"
"Uh-huh." Grayson nodded to her.
"From Manhattan, New York?" The woman asked her.
"I'm sure that's where he's from..." Gray chuckled.
She begins to describe him. "Mutant turtle, early twenties, about six feet tall, thick glasses, talks a lot with his hands."
"That's him!" Gray smiled widely.
