When You're Alone

it all happens when you're alone, when you're left to your own despair

wallowing in self pity, and feeling like no one cares

like there is no one to hold you close, no one to tell you it's okay

no one to tell you it's alright to cry, and then wipe your tears away

it all happens when you're alone, when you feel like you're going to drown

feeling the weight of society, heavy and dragging you down

like there is no one to hold onto, no one to keep you above the surface

no one to keep you floating, and make you feel like you have a purpose

it all happens when you're alone, when you feel like you can't handle anymore

feeling the pressure on your shoulders, pushing you to the floor

no one is there to help you up, no one to give you a hand

they are only just adding to the weight, making you lifeless and bland

it all happens when you're alone, when you take your final breath

when you push too hard, or put a rope around your neck

but just at the last moment, before you hit the floor

there is finally someone there, who just walked through the door
