The Deal

Chapter 10

I open my front door to see Chuck. I could tell he was drinking. Leading him to the bedroom I removed his clothes and shoes and laid him on the bed. I walk to turn off the light and he finally spoke.
"I want you move with me to Chicago.. Start this fresh"
I didnt know if it was Chuck or the liquor talking to me so I quickly  dismissed the thought. Apart of me was dying for change. I keep thinking about why Rod wanted me to drug Mr Beek. Maybe blackmail. After what happen with June. I was not  look forward to no Detectives popping up in my life.
I laid next to Chuck placing my leg over his body. He was warm. We slept til 11 the next morning.

I rolled over to see Chuck texting someone in his phone.
"Good morning " I said
"Good morning baby"
We both got up and headed to the bathroom washing up and getting situated for the day.
He mentioned he was leaving town tonight and he wanted me to come. I hesitated then said "yea" slowly he smiled.
He had his assistant book my flight and arranged everything he thought I meant need.
I packed a small suitcase just enough for a day or two.
I was happy to finally see him in his hometown.

It was windy walking out of the airport. I wasnt  used to this winter. Chuck hugged me tightly to warm my body a little.  A range rover pulled up and a driver open the door for us. Climbing in Chuck spoke
"Hey eric"
"Hey boss how was your trip" he replied back
"Productive"  Chuck said before turning to be
"Im happy you decided to come we could go house shopping this week"
My eyes widen
"house shopping? "
"Yea told you I want you to move here with me start off fresh"
I remember him saying these words but not thinking much of it. I didnt respond. My mind was racing. I really wanted a fresh start but what if things went bad. All I knew was miami. He could sense that I wasnt ready to answer. So he change the topic.
"I know u humgry lets go grab a bite"
I was relieved and also straving. Food sounded wonderful right now.
