Coup d'etat| A Naruto fan fiction

Prologue

"Itachi, you must either convince your family to drop the revolt or kill them. Clear? "

"Yes, sir, I'll first try to convince them and if all efforts fail then I shall eliminate them. " Itachi replied neutrally

"Good, you are now dismissed! Return tomorrow at this time with a full report. "

The Uchiha bowed and made his way home. Foolish elders, soon you shall be dismissed! Itachi thought to himself. His usual stoic expression had morphed into a calculating maniacal grin. His plan was to calm down the clan and wait untill Sasuke was 16 and then proceed to the coup d'etat. It was perfect, nothing could go wrong if he played his cards right. Tomorrow he'd return before the council and tell them that the clan has put aside their irrational thoughts and would go back to their normal lives. Now all he needed was the clan's approval and everything will be set...

"Hmm I see... astounding Itachi! I knew I could rely on your cunning mind. We, the council, agree to this plan. You said 16 is that correct? Long time to wait but that will be good to let this anger dwindle . "

"Yes father. At that age he'll be powerful even more powerful than me, but I feel we should max out on his power. "

"What are you implying? " one of the Elders asked

"I say we either start his training now or..." Itachi had to gather his thoughts. "Or send him to the Snake Sage in hopes that he'll bestow some power. But remember keep Sasuke aware of his role or else he'll get the wrong idea and disagree with us."

Fugaku needed to think. Sure Orochimaru was powerful and had several tricks up his sleeve and hated Konoha. The only issue was the chance of Sasuke becoming a lab rat or worse him becoming one of the Snake's new bodies. He would lose the biggest member of the plan not to mention that Sasuke is his youngest son. "For now no. Try to come up with a better plan or have someone accompany Sasuke to Orochimaru. Also when you report back, tell them that Orochimaru orchestrated the attack. Tell them that we were protecting villagers and saw him lurking through the shadows. Be convincing. " the Elder Uchiha said after his long ratiocination. Itachi simply nodded.

Itachi retired to his room and sat down in lotus position thinking kind and hard about the plan. Sasuke gains power from Orochimaru, then what? Should stay in Konoha and train or should he stay with the Sennin and kill him, OR bring him along to help with the revolution? Fuck! This is impossible! The young thought "How about after Sasuke gains power, he kills the Snake Sage, gain the Mangekyō and finally convince his lab rats to work for your cause?" Itachi jumped to find a masked man standing by his window. Sharingan ready and kunai he asked the man:

"Who are you?"

"Now now Itachi. " he said condescendingly "It's extremely rude to ask such questions so quickly but children will be children. I am Uchiha Obito."
the masked man offered his hand "Pleased to formally meet you"
