I drive to school cautiously.
Finally I arrived, the school was big that’s for sure. I find a parking spot and make my way to the door. I spot the couple and make my way towards their big group.
“Hi..umm I want to apologize about earlier you know how it is with..” I get cut off.
“having a mental illness?” the girl tilts her head with a mocking smirk on her face. The group giggles. I don’t know what to say. I guess I’ll introduce myself.
“I’m Kelsey” after some silence her boyfriend speaks up ending the awkward silence.
“I’m Brian and this is my girlfriend Chloe” I nod.
“Are you just going to stand there and stare at us or are you going to leave?” the group once again giggles. I look away and start walking.
“What a loser, Kelsey?What type of name is that?” I hear the group roar into laughter and hear some comments. I walk faster and try to look for my locker. I couldn’t find it after looking through 5 wings and I only had 10 minutes until the bell would ring. Great. I look at the paper where it tells me all the information I need,schedule,locker number and combination.
I suddenly feel a tap on my shoulder.I turn around.
“HI, I’m Nikki..seems like you’re having a difficult time.” She’s taller than me, she has glasses that tell me she’s the boss wherever she goes.
“Umm...I’m Kelsey, I could use some help”
“Ooooh I love your name, what do you need help with?” I hand her the paper. She nods, “follow me”. She marches away with great speed, she’s got me almost jogging.
“Girl you were so lost..” she shakes her head slowly and laughs quietly. “This is the wing your locker and mine are at, what’s your last name?”
“It’s Monnie” she nods and looks at the paper again.Nikki immediately find the locker and opens it.
“Boom!” she goes to her locker and gets her stuff.
“Follow me deary” She does this accent that just makes me giggle, and off we go.

The classes that led up to lunch were exhausting, already I have a load of homework and over three heavy textbooks. Amazing. I left them in my locker right before lunch and took my stuff for the classes after lunch. First day of school. Sorta eventful.
