I sat. scared. Cold. afraid. I was parked on a chair in the waiting room. I kept wondering, is my nan gonna be alright or is she gonna die. Sorry I haven't properly introduced myself. I am Emilia. you hear lots of people who gloat about going shopping with their mum and dad but I have to say that I go shopping with my nan. this is because when I was just 6 my mum and dad died in a car crash. I always think about them and how different my life would have been if they hadn't gone to that dance. That's right. they were on their way to the after wedding dance( I was at my nans because kids weren't allowed to go to the after wedding dance) then they were pulling into the second Lane. then they collided with a few cars because of one drunk driver. " Hello miss rose. your nan is. . . . . . she has suffered deeply from her fall down the stairs and has asked for you to go and see her. she said it's important to her." whispered a small voice. I thanked her. as I tip toed down the corridor a door to the right was open. I heard the heartfelt cries escaping to be free. inside that room was an old man, the old man's wife, and a granddaughter, the little girls mum and dad and a doctor. But the problem was that the man was dead. My nose started tingling. the stench of death was blocking my nose. making it almost impossible to breathe. I knew gran was going to die because she was 63 any way but I had no family to live with. Finally the corridor ended and there was my nan in the lonely room all by herself. she was attached to lots of machines and she was holding a green ancient box with this weird landscape. "nan are you okay?" I said. She couldn't talk but the box. The box. She kept on pointing to the box. I said would you like me to keep it safe and she nodded her head. She opened up the old rusty box and gave me a letter out of it. It said:
To my granddaughter Emilia,
