Heaven got an angel
Justin,
This is Brian. We really need you at the hospital as soon as possible. Unfortunately, Mandy suffered a miscarriage and we're not taking it well, especially Selena. She needs you more then ever right now. Please come.
Room 305--Brian Teefey.
Tears filled my eyes as I read the email. Selena's little sister was gone. I snapped out of my daze and sprinted down the stairs of my house and shoved my feet into the closest pair of Supra's. Selena needed me and I was going to be there for her. When I got to the hospital, I quickly found their room. I softly knocked and heard a faint "come in." As soon as I eased the door open, tragedy struck. Mandy was asleep in the bed.
She was really pale and her cheeks were raw from crying.
Brian was holding Selena bridal style on the couch beside the bed. My beautiful girl was curled up in her step dads arms with her face buried in her lap. Brian looked up and even his eyes were puffy from crying. "Justin? She needs you." Brian whispered.
"What do I do?" I whispered as I slowly walked over to them.
"Just be there for her and hold her." He stood up and I sat down in his place. He handed me Selena and she looked up. "Justin? She's gone. My little sister is gone and there's nothing I can do to get her back. I didn't even get to meet her." She whispered before tears fell from her big brown eyes.
"Shhhh. You're ok. I'm here. Selena, Scarlett will always be your guardian angel." I kissed the top of her head. Tears filled my eyes too. I hated seeing Selena cry. It tore me apart.
