I watched the sunrise. I had absolutely so sleep last night. I got up and got dressed. I took out my white coat and light blue jeans. I put on a pair of my white boots on along with white gloves. I headed downstairs.

I went into the kitchen. There Lena, my foster dad James, and my older foster brother Rick, my foster brother Luke who was the same age as me, and my little foster brother Cameron. "Good morning Winter." Rick yelled. I looked at him and said, "Hey."

"Mornin Winter!" the other two yelled. I greeted, "Mornin guys." I walked over and grabbed some cereal. I grabbed the box, a bowl, and some milk. I made some cereal and sat at the counter.

I started eating and while everyone was talking. I jut sat there, in silence, eating my cereal. When I was done I out my bowl in the sink.

As I walked past the door to go brush my teeth I heard a knock at the door. I walked over and opened it. There was a guy there. He had dark brown hair and green eyes. He looked to be 5"10, only 2 inches taller than me. "Hi there." He greeted. I greeted back, "Hey. Can I help you?"

"Uh...Well...I..." He scattered. He finally says, "Is Luke here?" I leaned back and yelled, "Hey Luke, your friend is here." I leaned forward and invited Luke's friend in. Luke came up and said, "Hey. What's up Allen." They shook hand and walked back into the kitchen. I heard then talking. Allen asked, "who's that girl?"

Lena answered, "That's Winter. The newest member to our Foster family and you guy are going to be nice to her and walk with her to school." Luke shrugged, "Really?"

Lena told him, "yes Luke. She's very nervous and very shy. She need to be welcomed with kindness if she is going to be comfortable there." Allen smile and said, "I'm cool with walking her to school." Lena smiled and told Allen, "Thank you Allen. At least someone will help her out." Luke wondered, "what's the big deal anyways?" Lena banged her Han on the kitchen counter. "The deal is that she has been kicked to the curb by a lot of Foster homes. I want our foster home to be her home to stay. But that can't happened unless she is welcomed and feels comfortable here." Lena explained.

I brushed my teeth and my hair. "Hey Winter! You ready?" Luke yelled out. I walked out and said, "yeah. Let's go." We walked out the door and down the street. There was snow everywhere.

I didn't talk really at all while we were walking. Not until Allen asked, "So, where did you live before you moved in with Luke?" I sighed.

"Uh... I lived in New York with another foster family." I answered him.

"Wow. You lived in the Big Apple?" He said in surprised.

"Yeah but only for about three months." I told him.

"Oh. How come?" he asked. Then Luke out his hand on Allen's shoulder and whispered, "Dud?! Your not suppose to ask an someone a question like that. It could be personal."

"It's okay Luke." I continued, "Let's just say there was an incident and they just couldn't keep me." I started to feel nervous and a little scared. Allen started to get suspicious. "What do you mean by that?" He questioned.

"Look. I already told that all I was going to say." I told him. I felt ice spread from the soles of my feet. I stepped away. "Are you okay?" Allen kept questioning me. "Look! Stop acting like an interrogator!" I yelled and stomped away. Even though I didn't really know where I was going. I kept walking until I saw a big building and by it it said, 'Columbus High' I walked to the school.

When I got in the courtyard I walked into the main office. "May I help you?" The lady at the desk asked. "I'm here to get schedule." I answered her. Then I gave her all my information. She printed out my schedule and handed it to me. She gave me a map of the school. "Thank you so much." I told her. Then I walked to my first period class.
