Rogues nipped at my bare heel, and I could feel their hot breath panting on my leg as I raced through the dry forest. I couldn’t find an end to this torture. The exit of the forest was so close, yet I never seemed to reach it.

A Rogue suddenly hopped forward to my right, as if we were running side by side. It snapped at me and I started running towards the left, when the Rogue lunged.

It tackled me to the ground and I screamed in fright. The end of the woods was so close to me, only a mere few feet away. Another Rogue grabbed my leg and started dragging me back into the forest.

In the long plains of the end of the forest, I could see Melody laughing at me, with Caroline trying to hide her amused smile. My parents were sobbing, looking away. Savannah was standing there with her arms crossed in front of her.

“Told you so.” Savannah spoke those three words and everything began spinning.

My eyes flew open. I was startled to see that I was in someone’s car. I began to panic, but I relaxed when I found Reagan, still driving. She glanced at me.

“Are you okay?” she asked, keeping her eyes on the road. I rubbed my eyes and nodded.

“Yeah… just a nightmare,” I muttered. I stared out the window, and I was surprised to see that we were driving into the woods. A moment of panic came over on me as I was frightened by the possibility of Rogues.

Reagan looked over to me again. “It’s only about five more minutes.”

I simply nodded, without looking back at her. I felt uncomfortable, still in my dress from yesterday. I wondered how long I had been sleeping. It didn’t seem very long, but I could tell we were far out into the forest.

That also made me confused. Was her house on the other side of town? Unless she was a werewolf, I can’t see why she would have a house in the middle of the woods. That wouldn’t make sense, though.

She can’t be a werewolf, since she wouldn’t have been allowed to leave her pack’s territory. And I doubt her pack territory would cover a human city.

After a little while, we entered a large town. My suspicions grew as buildings and shops formed on the side of the road. There weren’t any signs, though. Neighborhoods began to form, which made me feel a bit better.

The high-ranking werewolves lived in the Pack House. The Alpha, Beta, and third in command, along with their families, would live in the Pack House. Luckily, I couldn’t find a large mansion anywhere.

The town was surprisingly large, though. I could tell we weren’t in Hollywood anymore. We passed by many shops and diners and my eyes widened as I saw it.

There was a humungous mansion centered at the end of the road.

“That’s where I live,” Reagan informed me and my mouth popped open. Well, damn. The road swerved in a circle in front of the mansion. There was a large marble fountain in the center of the circle.

The front part of the house was a crème color, while the other sections were a darkish brown brick color. There were four large windows on the front part of the house. The roof was a dark black color with many chimneys sticking out.

Perfectly trimmed bushes outlined the porch, where two pillars connected the porch to the house. Reagan parked her car in front of the mansion, where two other cars were parked.

She got out of the car quickly and I slowly opened the door. Two rows of polished steps sat in front of the elevated porch. I slammed the car door shut, stepping onto the concrete.
