Chapter 1: the beginning: Cheng Lin meets Jun Xiang
“I actually thought that not all promises are meant to be broken.” She heavily sighed. “But you’re one of them… who took his promise as a lie…”
She’s standing on the edge of a big pile of rock in front of the blue calm sea.
She closed her eyes and felt the breeze of the cold wind. Cheng Lin reminisced
what had happen five years ago.
“Cheng Lin, I’ll be back for you after I’ve finished my course. This I’ll promise you. Everything I’ll do is for you and for our future. I ask you to patiently wait for me…” He hugged her tightly and kissed her cheek.
Although Wu Chun couldn’t stay by her side,she believed her boyfriend will keep his promise to her. With teary eyes, Cheng Lin waved goodbye to Wu Chun with a big smile, looking forward for his promises to arrive soon.
Cheng Lin was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Yang. They’re just an average family with no much wealth. They support their living with Mr. Yang’s job as an employee of a construction company with an average salary; and Cheng Lin’s job as a personal journalist photographer of theHeLins Paradise Ville in Kaohsiung. Mrs. Yang had an ill disease and being observed in the hospital. The father and daughter have to work hard to earn money for the operation of Mrs. Yang.
On the other side, Wu Chun was Cheng Lin’s boyfriend. He studied in Brunei when he left Cheng Lin in Kaohsiung. He had a wealthy family, owning a 30% part of Tian International Hotel and Resort Corporation found in Taipei. Chun’s family is now residing at Taipei’s Luxurious Ville.
Cheng Lin’s phone rang that made her back to the present. She wiped her tears and answered the call. It was her best friend, Beatrice.
“Hey girl, could you pay a visit to me now… because I wanted you to be my personal designer for my wedding dress…” Beatrice requested to her best friend.
“Oh…but I’m not a designer, I’m a journalist photographer, remember?” Cheng Lin responded. “I’m just kidding!” She forged laughing. “Alright, I’ll be there in an hour.”
The call was ended. She turned to the sea again and got something from her jacket’s pocket. She held it beneath the sky and stared at it seriously.
“If I’ve known it will be like this, I should never wait you all these years!” Cheng Lin’s heart was full of pain and anger.
She held on the locket tightly and threw it to the sea. She sighed heavily and closed her eyes for a moment.
The locket contained their picture together and all the memories and love they’ve shared. Now that it’s gone, did it means that she will move on and will start anew life again? That she will forget everything she held for five years?”
“I’ll hate you forever! I’ll never forgive you! Because of you, I’ll never believe in any man’s promise againnnnn!!!” Cheng Lin shouted with all her might until she felt relieved and fine.
She left the place with a smile while looking forward to the new beginning of her life.
Suddenly,a handsome guy blocked her way.
