Inseparable

"(y/n) chan !! let's go out drinking tonight!!" Rangiku shouted as she popped her head into squad 10's office.

Toshiro had an anime anger vein popped up on his forehead and you couldn't help but giggle. You and Toshiro were in the office finishing up the paper work. well you finished yours and was completing Rangiku's. You just smiled at your vice captain , unsure of what to say to her.

You were the third seated officer of Squad 10, where you worked closely with Toshiro since Rangiku was always missing in action. You were also offered to take up the position of the vice captain of Squad 13 but rejected it saying you were not ready for it. But truth to be told, you weren't ready to part with your best friend ,Toshiro.

Both of you met when you were both kids in the academy, he was a child prodigy and always isolated himself from everyone else. While you were the friendly and happy type of person that talks to everyone and decided , why not make friends with Toshiro?

FLASH BACK

"yo! i'm (y/n) (surename)! you're Hitsugaya Toshiro right?" you asked grinning at the boy.

Toshiro just nodded in reply but stared at you intently. Toshiro couldn't help it, he'd always had a little crush on you. He always observed you from a distance. Watching you smile from a far, watch how you always crack jokes with the people around you, making them laugh . He always longed to talk to you but never dared to.

"Could we be friends?" that snapped him out of his trance instantly. He stared at you for a moment but he nodded in response. He was shock, and at the loss of what to say he'd never been asked such a question before .

"You don't talk much do you?" you asked starting to giggle. That moment Toshiro adverted his gaze, he felt a blush coming up.

"Let's be the best of friends and be together forever!!" you exclaimed as you held out you're pinky .

That caught him off guard , He just spoke to you and now you were saying you wanted to stay with him forever?

He stood there just staring at you for the moment. Maybe he doesn't like me , you thought to yourself.

Toshiro saw how your expression falter.He took a deep breath and entwined his pinky with yours while blushing profusely.

You grinned happily and shouted, "Shiro kun and I will be inseparable !!"

END OF FLASH BACK

"MATSUMOTO!! GET BACK TO WORK! STOP asking (y/n) to do your work.." Toshiro growled in annoyance , glaring at her.

"Awww but I'm exhausted..." Rangiku started to whine.

Before Toshiro could snap back at her, you spoke up.

"I'll join you guys at the bar later on Rangiku, let me finish a couple more paper work ." You said smiling at friend who was now squeezing you in a tight hug.

"Don't be too late (y/n) chan, you don't wanna keep your admirer waiting!" Rangiku winked at you as she went out of the office in a flash.

The room was filled with silence so you began doing the paperwork once again. Toshiro stared at you, feeling a little uneasy .

'(y/n) chan .. you know you shouldn't let Matsumoto get the habbit of giving all her work to you..." Toshiro said softly causing you to look up from the paper work to look at him , eyes meeting his. You gave him a warm smile saying, " It's alright , I'm already used to it."

"Like how you always get dragged to go drinking with her?" This time Toshiro had a stern look on his face. You just laughed it off as you got back to doing the paper work.

"Who's the admirer that Matsumoto metioned earlier?" Toshiro asked still staring at you. He couldn't help it, you looked so beautiful in whatever you did.

"You're a little more talkative than usual today aren't you Shiro kun?" You said smiling as you wrote.

Toshiro could feel his heart skip a beat, he just adored that smile of yours so much. He also liked it when you called him Shiro kun. He was never a fan at the fact that you had to be formal with him but casual with everyone else.

" Just curious..." He said feeling a little heat rush up his face. He had to admit that he still has a crush on you.You could always make him smile and laugh when both of you were alone. He let you see his vulnerable side which he never showed anyone else. You brought so much happiness into his life that no one else was capable of doing. When you both ended up in the same Squad he was overjoyed though he didn't show it but he as glad to see that you were just as elated as he was.

"His a guy at the bar that always talks to me and buys me a drink. Rangiku got interested and talked to him and she found out that he kind of has a crush on me that's why she calls him my admirer." you said as you shrugged.

Finally you were done with the stack of paper work . you stood up and stretched then made your way to place it on Toshiro's table.

He stared at you with a little bit of longing in his eyes but you seemed to have missed it . You stared at him remembering when you both first met, he hasn't changed much especially his height. After that thought you started to giggle.

"What's so funny?" he asked raising his eyebrow.

"You just look a lot shorter now that you're seated." you said as you started to laugh.

"(Y/n)!" Toshiro growled as he stood up , now both of you were face to face.

"You better stop before I make you.." Toshiro said. it came out less authoritative then he had planned but that's cause he has a soft spot for you.

"I think you haven't grown much huh?" you said between laughter .All of a sudden Toshiro pulled you close to him , "says the girl that's the same height as me." Toshiro said as he glared at you.

Your eyes widened as you stared at him in the eyes. what was he doing?!

"Eto... Shiro kun..." You were as nervous as hell. your heart was racing and you could feel your cheeks burning up. Both of your lips were just an inch away.

Toshiro seemed to have realized the position you both were in and released his grip of you as he adverted his gaze. You started to straighten your uniform, stealing a glance at him , he seemed to be blushing really badly.

"Eto.. Shiro kun .. I'm going to take my leave to the bar, erm you should rest early..." you managed to put on a warm and gentle smile as you spoke. He didn't respond but gazed at you .

As you made your way to the door. you felt a tug at your wrist. you turned to see Toshiro gazing away blushing more than before.

"Do you really have to go?" he asked as he began to look into your eyes. this time you saw it. you saw yearning , longing and a great amount of affection. That was your first time seeing such a gaze and that gaze was being directed to you...

You smiled a little and gave him a hug. When you pulled away you saw a very shock Toshiro who had his eyes wide open.

Man he never changes, he gave you that same expression when you first hugged him when both of you were kids. You then put out your pinky in front of him as you said, "Shiro kun and I will be inseparable right?"

Toshiro stared at you in disbelief but his expression that was tensed seemed to have soften . He entwined his pinky with yours as he gazed into your eyes. He saw a lot of affection and warmth in your gaze.

"I'll stay with Shiro kun forever ! daisuke desu Shiro kun! A long time ago actually !"you said grinning at the young male.

Without any delay , Toshiro pulled you into a tight hug,"why didn't you tell me?"

"I never thought you'd feel the same way. ' you said as you embraced him back.

"I always had, ever since I made that promise..." Toshiro said hugging you even tighter than before.
