People say you've only got one chance to live so you better make the most of it. The people you meet and who you constantly surround yourself with, the memories you make throughout your life, all represent who you are as a person. The choices you make always impact who you will become. So choose wisely. At least that's what my dad use to tell me as a kid.
I'm April Scott, a seventeen year old girl who's on the verge of turning eighteen in a couple of weeks. But I'm not that excited. Age is just a number right? Nothing is actually going to change.
Mom and dad split up when me and my little sister Camri were very young. Dad always said he would come back and visit once and awhile but he never kept his promise. I haven't seen the man in eleven years. But I still love and believe in him, although my mom and sister don't. They think what he did was awful: Having an affair with another woman, someone else besides mom. But I don't look at it that way. Dad always taught me to learn from mistakes and give second chances to people who deserve it. I was willing to give dad that second chance but mom didn't feel the same.
We're currently located in Atlantic City, on North Carolina Ave, right by the beach and boardwalk. I was pretty lucky that my parents picked a nice place when they were together. There's always warm weather and nice people...Well most of the time!
But let me tell you about the time the Axton family moved into our neighborhood. They are very nice looking people on the outside but man that family's rude. You'd think they would know how to treat people but maybe they were never taught how to act around new fellas. But me and their son Seth actually got along really well.
Seth is the kind of guy who looks rude and unapproachable on the outside, he most likely thinks that it makes him look tough but on the inside he is so incredibly funny, nice, caring and intelligent. You just have to take the chance to bury the hatch it and get to know him. Plus his good looks are a bonus! Fast forwarding to now... He's one of the best people who have ever walked into my life. I love him, nothing will ever change that.
