ARTHUR'S POV
I walked through forest wearing my green cloak and white tunic, while I mulled over the earlier events of today, it had started off fine until I met the other European nations.
When they had seen me walking through the tree line they had started laughing and teasing when I greeted Flying mint bunny as he had flown past me, they had poked fun at me and called me names, foul names, mostly Francis calling me the black sheep of Europe, it's not my fault that I'm different...They were saying that I had lost my mind, that there was no such thing as fairies or any of my other magical friends and to make matters even worse my brothers were there.
I had never gotten long with my family and I was somewhat estranged even at this young age. I couldn't take it anymore, I ran back into the forest tears streaming down my cheeks, I kept running until I came to a clearing, I sat down in the boughs of an ancient weeping willow, I put my arms around my head and curled into my self, no matter how hard I tried I couldn't stop crying, "Why do they hate me? It's not my fault they can't see them, they are real..!" My thoughts whirred as I felt a weight on my shoulder, I kept crying. I already knew who it was, I didn't want to see flying mint bunny at the moment, I just wanted to be alone.
"Hey Arthur! Do you want to play?" he asked cheerfully, I didn't care I just sobbed into my hands that were already soaked with tears "Go away, just go away..." I murmured, seeing my other friends walk or fly past the tree line to look upon me with concern. "Arthur, what's wrong?" I wearily lifted my head, my vision was still blurry with tears as I looked up to see one of the pixies looking down at me as she hovered around my head. "Why do I have to be different? Why can't I just fit in like the other nations? They even like Francis more than me..." A unicorn trotted up to me and nuzzled it's nose against my arm, it's big blue eyes full of concern and pity, I wrapped my arms around it's neck as I cried into it's impossibly soft mane, it continued to nuzzle my back, as if to comfort me.
I continued to cry, as I thought about my predicament. "I am pitied by a unicorn, and the only things that accept me are mythical creatures that no one else can see, I want to escape into another realm where nobody knew who I was and nobody made fun of me! I could start again...". I pulled away from the unicorn's soft mane, drenched with tears. "That's it!" I thought I turned away from my magical friends, and sprinted back to my cottage to look at my spell book for a spell, a specific spell to get me away from this blasted place! I read the list of supplies needed and the time to perform it, the spell needed to be performed during the dark of the moon, I looked in my moon diary and looked at the the next dark moon was it turns out that it was tonight, thank gods... I don't think I would be able to stand this damn place much longer. I dashed around my house hastily grabbing the necessary supplies for performing the spell and waited anxiously for the sun to set.
TIMESKIP
I set out for the clearing I had found earlier today with my bow, arrows, cloak, food, water, knives and materials for the spell I started to walk towards the forest, I contemplated my decision but when I did I also remembered how I had been treated and my resolve once again set as I plunged on into the trees, I eventually came to the clearing that I was seated at previously and began to set up the spell, I put four crystals at each of the various compass points and stood in the centre.
Once everything was in precise place I began to chant, "lunam et virtute et viribus meis crystalla me vocat me ducere cases antiquorum*" the crystals that I had placed earlier began to glow and a white line shot out and connected with the other crystals around me, I continued the chant "adiuva me et enutries me transferre alio region meo*" the crystals now darkened, when I looked up from my spell book I saw a dark void, it had worked...holy Gods it had worked.
I picked up my bag of supplies and slung it over my shoulder, I stepped up to the black mass and looked into it, I could see no end but this was how it was supposed to look, that you knew the it had worked, right? I was about to walk through when I heard a voice call out in desperation and fear. "Arthur!" I turned around to see my friends gathered just outside the circle "What are you doing?!" I exclaimed. Flying mint bunny flew onto my shoulder as I looked at my friends sadly. "I am sorry but I have to get away from here, I don't fit in here and I have no other nations as friends, I am constantly made fun of and I can't take it much longer! I'm sorry but I have to do this...!" I muttered, tears threatening to fall again, they all looked at me sad but with understanding they didn't blame me and for that I was grateful.
I felt Flying mint bunny rest on my shoulder as he said "At least let me go with you!" He squeaked sadly, I nodded at him as he looked at me questioningly, I looked back at the rest of my friends as I whispered in a barely audible voice. "Goodbye" As I stepped into the dark mass.
I felt the air whip at my green cloak as the darkness gave way to a light, I jumped towards it and I felt myself falling, I fell to the ground with an undignified "Oomph!" I started crying as the impact of what I had just done hit me like a tonne of bricks and the world I had said to my friends came back to me, I saw a house in the distance and I ran towards it, but I felt like I was missing something, then it hit me. Where was Flying mint bunny? I looked around frantically until I heard a voice "A-Arthur, where are you?" I ran as fast as my legs could take me, in the direction of the voice until I saw Flying mint bunny flying around in distress as he looked for me, "I'm over here in the trees!" He flew towards me in relief as he settled onto my shoulder I turned around in the direction that I had come.
I found my way back to the clearing I had fallen into and I looked around for the house I had spotted earlier, I looked at Flying mint bunny and stated. "We're going to go to that house and find out where we are ok." I pointed out the house on the mountain. I started to climb to the house when I realised how cold it was, my thin tunic did nothing against the freezing night air, I shivered and kept walking hoping that I reached the house soon, within the next hour they had made it to the house and walked around to the front, they looked at the view and gasped in admiration, there was a huge city hidden by a range of these mountains while a huge harbour stretched for miles, a large river flew through the centre of the city, "Arthur look up." Flying mint bunny whispered in awe, I tilted my head to look at the sky and I once again gasped it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.
The sky was full of blues, blacks and purples and stars seemed to stretch on for eternity, there were so many and they were so bright. I trembled again and I was brought back to the present, I needed to get to the front of the house. I started to walk along the large wall that bordered the house, I eventually came to the gate and pushed it open I saw that there was a beautiful, large garden filled with night blooming lilies and vines that curled round stone pillars, I came to a huge set of double doors, I swallowed my fear and knocked quietly twice.
I stepped back and admired the craftsmanship, the doors boasted elegant patterns, that were carved into them, I continued to wait patiently for the door to be answered, staring at the patterns on the large doors, I was about to turn away and find someone else to help me when, I heard the doors open.
