"Life is amazing. And then it's awful. And then it's amazing again. And in between the amazing and the awful it's ordinary and mundane and routine. Breathe in the amazing, hold on through the awful, and relax and exhale during the ordinary. That's just living heartbreaking, soul-healing, amazing, awful, ordinary life. And it's breathtakingly beautiful." -- LR Knost.
August 2019 - Gavine and Melany's Home in Beverly Hills, CAGavine was lucky to find an early flight back to LA from Boston. It had been a long week, and she hadn't been home for almost a month. The book tour had a grueling schedule of book signings, readings, early morning radio interviews, and late night TV talk shows. She was glad to get home finally.
She couldn't wait to make love to her wife and hold her daughter. It had been months since her, and Melany had sex. After the birth of their daughter and their busy work schedules, they just never found any time to be intimate. She had a few weeks of free time before she had to start the press junkets for the upcoming movie she co-produced. Which wasn't always "free" time, but it afforded her some quality time with her wife. They needed it.
She felt guilty she hadn't tried harder to find time with Melany before she left for the book tour. Their schedules were so hectic, after four months off and staying home taking care of Cecilia. Melany was accepting movie roles again. She had been on location in Florida for two months before Gavine left town. They tried to see each other as often as possible while she was gone, but Gavine was working, too. Was this what Hollywood couples had to cope with to have a family. She didn't regret any of it. Marrying Melany, and then getting pregnant right afterward. Cecilia was one of the perfect co-creation and collaboration she had ever been part of. She gave most of the credit to Melany. However part of Cecilia's DNA was half hers. Science was incredible that way.
Gavine pulled up in front of the house and decided to park the car in the driveway instead of pulling into the garage. She was exhausted and would take care of everything once she showered, relaxed, and acclimated to being back home. If Gavine had pulled into the garage, she would have noticed Melany's Personal Trainer's car parked in Gavine's usual spot.
She unlocked the front door and wasn't too surprised none of the staff was there to greet her. It was after 4 o'clock in the late afternoon, and no one was expecting her until tomorrow morning. She made sure Beth didn't let anyone know, she wanted to surprise Melany. She picked up some flowers on her way home. She dropped her bags at the front door and was hoping to surprise her, so she didn't call out her name. She looked for her throughout the house. She wasn't in their bedroom. She walked to Cecilia's nursery expecting she'd be there. No, Melany, and no, Cecilia. Hmmm, strange. She walked up to the sliding doors to look out into the back yard, nothing.
