      She was unexpected; who knew? She could threaten the life he built for himself, but all he could imagine were those hazel eyes staring up at him, when they almost kissed.

     It all started about a month ago, when he moved to St Charles, Illinois. It was a good location to start anew, where nobody knew him. Fresh start in a new city, where nobody knew him. He'd been holding his breathe since the accident, when his life turned upside down. Why did she have such an effect on him? He was used to taking care of himself and his brother; living a low key life till he went back.

      If Alex knew what happened the other night, he would think he was looking at a different person. He remembered when it first started snowing that December night. Being from California he was unprepared for the weather. A couple of hours later, he was freezing in his car, stuck in a snowbank from when his car slipped on some black ice. The road was deserted; not a headlight in sight. He didn't even know what time it was, his phone now only showed him a black cracked screen.
