Luke's P.O.V
My name's Lucas Blasby. You can call me Luke. I'm a 24 year old man who works as a detective. Of course I'm still a beginner since I just finished my last year of Uni. I have a specific area that I like to work in, which is homicide and suicide cases. Many detectives don't like working on cases like this but I'm really good at it. I'm not bragging, I have eidetic memory or photogenic memory, if you want to call it that, which makes it a lot easier to to remember everything. Sometimes it is a little traumatic, remembering the corpses but I've gotten a bit more used to it. Right now I don't have a case so I'm messing around at the office.
But see there's this little problem that gets me in trouble at work.
"LUCAS BLASBY SEE ME IN MY OFFICE NOW!!"
I'm an otaku.

"I can't believe you were looking at cats on the internet."
I shrugged.
"At work."
Again
"When your boss was around."
I rolled my eyes.
"It's not my fault he was behind me. Lucky it was just cats, if he caught me watching anime I'd be dead."
My best friend frowned.
"What is with you and anime?! It's not that special."
I shook my head and was about to give him a whole list full of reasons when my phone rang.
"Hello?" I grimaced as the voice shouted over the phone.
"LUKE GET OVER HERE! THERE'S BEEN A MURDER! I send you the address so hurry!"
As soon as he cut the line I said a quick bye to my friend as I raced off to the crime scene. It was near the area I was with my friend so I got there pretty fast. I showed the officers my I.D card and put my gloves on. Inspector Smith spotted me and ran me briefly through what they've discovered so far.
"The victim's name is Audrey Philips. She is the fiance of Daniel Ghors. They were going to wed next Tuesday but it seems it won't happen anytime soon. The victim was killed between 1am to 3am, as for the murder weapon we don't know yet. Forensics are trying to find more evidence."
I nodded after he had finished, going through the information in my head.
"No suspects?"
"Unfortunately not. There were no witnesses, no one who saw the culprit walk into her room. It was locked from the inside out though."
"Alright, can I examine the room and body?"
"Go ahead."
I nodded and walked into the room the forensics were still checking the room. I looked at the body first, there was an obvious wound above her chest. I asked one of the forensics if they've found the murder weapon yet. He shook his head. I frowned and muttered thanks before returning to the body. I examined her face, such a lovely person got murdered. I spotted something that piqued my interest. Her mouth was coated in a brown-ish red lipstick. I wiped a bit off and sniffed it, only realizing it was blood I examined the inside of her mouth quickly.
As I suspected there were lots of tiny cuts inside of her throat and mouth. Her tongue had been skinned in a way. I quickly called forensics to examine the inside of her mouth. I walked around the room, trying to find something small and sharp. I noticed her fish tank had been smashed, glass had shattered on the ground. I looked at them more thoroughly before tossing them back down. I sat down on her couch thinking about this more seriously.
She had probably been forced to swallow the glass shards, and I doubt the killer could take them out again so that leaves one possible explanation. But then who killed her? Was it an acquaintance? a close friend? If the killer was stupid enough they may have left fingerprints on those glass shards.
I told forensic to try and get one of those glass shards, it took a while but as I suspected there were fingerprints on it. I gave out a relieved sigh, it wasn't a premeditated murder to some extent. I walked out of the room and told Inspector Smith what I found out. He slapped me on the back and told me I could go home now. I smiled then walked out of the house stretching. I strolled down the streets feeling quite pleased with myself.
On the way back I passed a guy in a hooded jumper. He whispered something barely audible. My eyes widened in terror and I ran. I didn't look back I just ran away. I reached my apartment, unlocked my room quickly and shut the door. I leaned back on the door catching my breath before sliding down. I replayed his words inside my head a couple of times,
You could be next
I shook it off as some random prank but my mind kept wondering what it meant. Even after showering and changing I still couldn't shake off this feeling that it would be something much bigger. The worry kept me from sleeping until 1 o' clock in the morning.

Since today was my paid vacation I decided to go shopping. I passed many stores today, clothes shops, appliance shops, every other shop I didn't want, until I finally descovered the jackpot. This glorious shop has everything that I like, every video, book, figure, bag etc. that I ever wanted. And the shop, wait for it, was the most glourious thing man could ever offer.
An anime shop.
Why this glourious shop was just telling me to go in there. So of course I did. I bought so many figures and videos in there, I had to carry two bags. As I got home, my wonderful day of shopping done, it was only 3:32pm. I proceeded to take everything out of the bag and play with them for a bit before my phone rang. I looked puzzled and reached for the phone as I wondered who it was. I immediately answered when I saw Inspector Smith calling.
"Hello?"
"Alright Luke listen up. There's been a murder, but before you say anymore this is a special case. You and four other detectives, including myself, have been chosen to solve this case. The reason? The reason is simple. This isn't like any normal murder we've come across so far. There is absolutely no evidence apart from the corpse and the writing on the wall. I'll send you the address now so get going alright?"
I gawked at the information given to me. No evidence? I mean surely there has to be some hair or foot print right? There is no way anyone could commit a murder without leaving evidence. As the text came in I quickly locked my apartment door and headed out. I grabbed the car keys out of my pocket and stomped towards my car. This case has gotten me anxious now. I quickly drive to the location, taking as many shortcuts as possible. Eventually I was at the crime scene. The victims own house.
I wore my gloves and opened the door. As I did I was greeted with Inspector Smith's grim face. He led the way without a word and I followed without a word. When we reached the room I was horrified to see a politician dead on the floor. His insides were gutted out and hung loosely by his sides. I turned away before it traumatized me but the image was already burned in my head. But my heart fell as I saw the words written on the wall with his blood.
WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD?
