I unlocked the door from my apartment to see an angry Marissa pacing back and forth. Once she saw me, she grabbed the nearest thing closest to her (a spoon) and threw it at me. It hit me on my leg.
"Ow, what the fuck Marissa!?" I yelled at her. She ran over to me and gave me a hug. What the fuck? What's with the mood swings? She then grabbed me by my shoulders and looked at me. She groaned, pushing me away. I fell back onto the couch, bumping my head on the arm of the couch.
"I'm gonna hurt you." I mumbled, getting up from the couch.
"Where have you been all day Char? I thought you left me because of what I said to you about Nathan." She sighed. I felt bad because she thought I left her. She's honestly all I have, I would never.
Then again .. "Mari, you're the one who got mad and left the apartment. Niall even called me and told you were with him."
"That little fucker." She said under her breath.
I just sold Niall out after he told me not to tell her. Oops. She sighed, walking over to me and wrapped her arms around me. I hugged her back, wanting to ensure her that I was not mad at her.
We stayed in each others arms for a few more minutes, enjoying the presence of one another. "I'm sorry." She muttered. I nodded my head, forgiving her for being a drama queen.
"I still don't approve of Nathan so I'm going to talk to you." She broke away from the hug, giving me a big smile.
Oh no.
"About?" I questioned, not ready for the answer she was going to give me.
"Niall."
I groaned. Here we go again with this conversation I have had with her about only a hundred times already. "Marissa, no."
"Yes. Look Char, why can't you just give him a chance. You're good at giving those."
I glared at her.
"Ok, ok, that was one bad. But he's an amazing guy. He's nice, cute, caring, has a big heart, a good voice too. All the things Nathan doesn't have. Plus, he's into you."
"Nathan is my boyfriend Marissa."
"Not a good one." She mumbled under her breath.
For the sake of us, I chose to ignore that comment. I don't blame her for not liking Nathan after everything he's put me through. I would just as mad if I was Marissa but I just can't seem to let him go.No matter how much hatred I can have for him, the love I have overrules it. It's difficult to explain and I don't know another way I can explain it to her. She's my best friend and I know she thinks she knows what's best for me and hell, she probably does. But I know what makes me happy, and Nathan does exactly that.
A sigh left my lips. "Marissa I'm happy with him." I ran my hand through my hair, upset at the fact that she can't give him a chance.
Marissa sat down on the couch. "Babe I know, but he's only going to hurt you again. I don't want to see you like that anymore."
"He might but he might not. Give him one more chance, please. As your best friend, I'm asking for you to give him another chance." I sat next to her, looking her in the eye as every word left my mouth.
"Char, I love you but please leave him."
"Marissa."
"Okay. Fine, one more. That's it."
I smiled, hugging her from the side. "One more." I mumbled. Finally happy that she gave in to giving Nathan another chance. Now hopefully things won't be as awkward when we hang out together.
"I love your dumb ass." She kissed my cheek and pushed me away from her.
I shrugged, laying my head on her thighs and watched as she flipped through channels on the TV. I suggested for her to stop so many times but all she said was that what I wanted to watch was not interesting enough, which is not true.
She ended up stopping at Vampire Diaries. We were behind with the show and in a desperate need to catch up.
My phone started to ring on the table next to the couch. Marissa grabbed it, making a face as she saw the called ID and sadly enough, I knew who was on the other line. Her finger swiped across the phone and she put it to her ear.
"What do you want headass?"
She scoffed.
"One day I'm going to kick your ass." She rolled her eyes and gave me the phone.
"Babe you and Marissa really need to start getting along."
"No we don't. She's not important." He sounded irritated, which confused me since he seemed fine a few hours ago when I saw him.
"Nathan." I warned.
"I'm sorry baby. I called to ask if you wanted to come to a party tonight." His words seemed rushed but I didn't decide to question it further.
"A party?"
"Yeah. It's a celebration for the boss, Styles. For his achievements or some shit. It's tonight at one of his clubs. All drinks are on him." He chuckled.
"I don't know babe ..." My voice trailed off, not sure if I wanted to go to his bosses party.
It was silent for a few seconds.
"Please babe? I actually want to go this time. But if you really don't want to then I won't either."
Suddenly, I was feeling guilty. For some reason, Nathan wanted to go to this party and I really didn't want to be the one holding him back from having fun. I was off from work tomorrow as well so I really didn't see a problem going tonight.
As always, Nathan got me to say yes.
"Okay Nathan we can go."
"Thank you babe. I'll pick you up at ten, sound good?"
"Yeah." I smiled.
