“You’re…You’re Asher?!?” I say, my jaw practically hitting the floor.

“Last time I checked, I was.” Asher says sarcastically, giving me a smirk.

I should’ve known he was Asher the minute Icy said Asher was an art student. So many emotions flash through my mind. Confusion, shock, anger, and a little nausea. All this time, I didn’t know who Asher was when he was practically standing right in front of me. I am so done with today, I just want to get up and go to Icy’s house.

I am at a loss for words and then Asher says, “Well let’s get this tutoring thing on the road, I’ve got places to be too, ya know?”

In a quick flash, I smack Asher across the face, completely in shock at what I just did.

Asher makes a painful face and rubs his cheek. “What the hell was that for, you bitch?”

All my pent up anger comes pouring out of my mouth. “That was for ruining my life! Because of you I have to be here every day and waste away time I could’ve been using to practice. You may not care about that, but I do! I’ve worked my ass off for four years so I can get into the college of my dreams and what do I end up doing? Having to tutor your ass because your too lazy to fricken do your damn homework! “

I start taking deep breaths as Asher stares at me in utter disbelief. My hands are shaking and my body is trembling because I'm so angry. I never screamed at anyone like this before in my entire life and it actually feels… good. Whenever I'm mad, I just bottle it up and never do anything about it, but now I feel like those emotions all came out at once and I feel great.

By the time I finally calm down, Asher is still staring at me in shock with his mouth practically wide open. The awkward silence is starting to become unbearable, making me tap my long finger nails against the table. Finally, Asher snaps out of his trance-like state.

“Boy, for a small girl, you sure can yell, Lydia.” Asher says, with no expression on his face.

I clear my throat and say quietly, “I’m sorry, Asher. I was just so angry and it all sort of just…came out. I’ve been getting a lot of bad news today and I guess I was looking for someone to blame it on.”

He lets out a sigh and says,” It’s okay. We all need to let out our anger sometime and I guess you chose to do it now.” He smirks at me.

I giggle slightly, not knowing if it is a joke or not until he starts laughing too.

“Well, it’s only 3:13 and we still have a whole lot of stuff to cover, Asher.” I say, taking some books out of my bag.

Asher’s face goes from happy to disappointed and says,” Ugh, I don’t want to study! It’s so boring.”

I roll my eyes and say sternly, “Well, if you want to graduate then you have to study. I don’t want to be here as much you don’t, but we are going to make the best of it, okay Asher?”

He lets out a sigh and says “Fine. By the way, you can call me Ash.”

I give him my own little smirk and say, “Okay. Let’s start studying, Ash.”

For the rest of the session we go over English, History, Biology and Algerbra. Ash loses focus a few times, but I get him back on track quickly. I know this isn’t going to be easy, but now that we are sort of friends, it won’t be as miserable.

I look at my phone and am thrilled to see it is 4:06. Ash and I start to clean up our books and worksheets. Once everything is cleaned up, we walke out of the school Library and agree we'll meet tomorrow at 2:00 at the local Library before going our separate ways.

I happily walk out of the school over to my silver Volkswagen bug and climb inside. I throw my bag into the cluttered backseat and start the car. Before pulling out, I quickly take out my phone and text Icy.

Me: Hey icy. I’m leavin the school rite now. B @ ur house in a few. <3 Lydie

Icy: Okaay, I’ll be waitin4 u <3 Icy
