This is the first story in the Mindful Blood Trilogy, with the second being 'Mindless Blood, Corrupted Spirit' and the last being 'Windkin Bloodhaze'.
This is my first attempt as an author at an action-based work so wish me luck and criticism will be appreciated. The things I'm worried about the most are creating immersive fight scenes and making grasping visual imagery that will really make this stand out in its own right.
I realise this is a mature novel and that's mostly because of the high usage of blood as a story element and some sections might be a bit too much for the squeamish so discretion is advised.
I've put a lot of thought into this, not just as a single work but as a trilogy, so I'm hoping if one doesn't make the intended impact then maybe one of the other two will. I've also decided to make this an open project, meaning that if anyone wants to submit and fan ideas, designs, or elements then I may very well add them canonically or non-canonically, in the form of bonus chapters.
In terms of the story, I suppose it's nothing particularly special. Which is why the writing will hopefully make up for that. as well as the undertones and themes that I'll intertwine as I go along.
As you may have noticed, most of my works start out very main character-centric, so I'm hoping to branch out my horizons here and add some more to the initial cast to give this a bit more depth than usual.
If you came here for action, you may be disappointed. If you came here for fantasy, that may disappoint you also. But if I do start to go off track and you as the readers want more action or more fantasy, then please feel free to comment suggestion or pointers. I try to appeal to as many as I can.
