The young man flicks his zippo. An officer hands him a small brown, torn around cigarette. A large, grey, stocky guy slowly lands his hand on the young man's shoulder. The room they re sitting in is wallpapered with shelves and old stinking, dust covered dossiers.
"She hasn't showed up for work in three days. She s home. Called in sick. Worried. You know why?"
"Why?"
"guess. Because of you."
"I could fathom the cause...of her concer?"
"Think again. You worte altter"
"Is it a crime?"
"No. But can become one"
"This is not a police precinct. I am not forced to answer your question"
"No, it's worse."
"I sent altter. Is that a crime? Am I detained. Byu whom"
"Yo uact the tough guy part, but you re scareed shitles, Mr Moreno."
"If I did anything wrong, call the police. Have them cuff me.
"That wuld be unfair I want to know how ou got her address, her social media and her schedule. Did you followed her or did you hired a investigator to do so?
"Does it matter. If I tell you it was my idea are you going to ver overwhelmed with admiration. Will it impress you, Mr. Grazov. Will you think higher of me ?"
Grazov, the big guy leading the interrogation walked around the chair, taking and landing a heavy fist on each of his shoudlers.
"Id don't think you understand the gravity of the situation."
Grazov paused as the door opened and one man dressed in a black suit entered. He was smiling and he was constantly stroking his auburn hair.
"The Executive, Mr Drascott. Mr. Drascott meet Mr. Moreno, our own special terrorist and rebel. After terrorizing our Creative Director, MRs Diana Westingham, he decided to visit and apply for a job. I don't know if he s a psycho and wanted to get cuaght, or he just stupid."
"I am very curious about your reasons. Is it religious? Is it something personal?" asked the Exec.
"If youd get your head out your very own ass, and see whats going on in your company and magazine, you'd figure it out."
Moreno squinted as a big fist logded into the back of his head. He opened his eyes and shook his head.
"Now, not like this GRAZOV. I don't want him a total idiot or, unabel to answer. I am very curious why he did it.
Moreno lloked up at the man in the suit with wonder and contempt.
"do you never read your magazine? The shit your minions spew?"
"Which one, there are so many. I don't have time to read them all"
"The thought provoking piee she published, theo ne that hailed paedophilia as misunderstood the one that children with collars around their frail necks"
"Oh yeah. That was good. Not promotion god, but pretty good"
"Yeah, I figured you might have thought like that. To me it was crap and she had to pay for that. I really cant stand low quality journalism"
Drascott swiftly grabbed Morenos head and tilted it backwards.
"Listen, you idiot. I make the rules. We publish what someone else decides, but you don't get to intimidate my employees. Do you think, I would have had Mr Grazov rough you up here, if I thought you were just a righteous fool?"
"If I thought so, I would have let you go. But seeing how you painstakingly took steps t find everything about her, that made me think. Its not just an outraged joe doe. And to tell you the truth I don't really give a shit about her, about our employee. I just cant put up with ambitious vigilante such as yourself."
Drascott gently opens up a box of gold filter cigarettes and offers one to the young man.
"Di you do it, or were you paid by somebody"
"Yeah. I was hired to do this"
"Who hired you Mr Moreno?"
"My conscience"
It went black after that. They toook me out. Even the cops wouldn't touch me. They took me to a hospital. I refused and went home. It wasn't the fact that I threatened that journalist. It was my aduacity to come there and aplly for a job, infiltrate. I don't know how they knew it was me. But they did. They were impressed with how I got to know so much things about their employee and of course my nerve to do such a thing.
I didn't understood why they published such garbage. I didn't write to her after that but the idea of revenge was stil growing in my mind. Obviously the first thing you can do to take revenge is to stop reading or watching that media outlet.
Of course that doesn't work. They want you hooked and they have you hooked. Even if it is a news channel that you definitely hate. You will watch it. Scream, shout, clench your fist and slam your coffe mug on the tabe, but you will wath. And you cant do anything about it. All ther lies, all their misinformation, you cant stop them. Well you can blow them up. But that will only make them stronger.
I remember that scene in London very good. And I know what they are capable of. And I know that theyr are untouchable. They have the cops in their pockets, justice. They are not one. They are many.
They know that you know, but they will toy with you they ll want to know how far you will go. Like cat playing with itsmouse, they will catch you and releas you again. Give you the illusion that you have an upper hand. The only thing that they don't know is how fucking crazy you are. How far you will go. How motivated you are. Someone who will not back up, not evenwhen faced with death. That scares them. And when they will find out that neither money or the fear of tdeah can buy yu, that's when they will try to dispatch you.
