Chapter 2

"What are we gonna do?" Jasmina asks.

"I don't know. There is nothing we can do but wait and pray that it's only temporary." Jenika says. "When did Chance change?"

"Just now. I was just fixing to start supper." Jasmina answers.

"At least you guys were at home. Tim and I took Satchmo and went riding out in the country. He was driving the car when the changed occurred. I literally thought we were going to die." Jenika says.

"Jen, I don't know how to take care of him. I can't understand half of what he's saying." Jasmina says. "Who or what is Avi Oli? That's not that guy from Pentatonix is it?"

Jenika sudden burst into laughter.

"That's funny?" Jasmina asks with an annoyed voice.

"Ravioli. Little Chance likes ravioli." Jenika laughs.

"Oh. See what I'm saying?" Jasmina says.

"I tell ya what. Why don't you pack you and Chance some clothes and come to Nashville? Tim and I have plenty of room here. We can help each other out while this is going on." Jenika says.

"Oh, I would love that. You really don't mind?" Jasmina says as she looks around at Chance playing with a toy that her nephew had left the last time he visited.

"Of course I don't mind. Chance is like my big brother." Jenika says. "Emoni is supposed to come by and keep an eye on Tim. She knows all about what happened in Alaska. I have to run to the store. Adult diapers and toys are number one and two on my shopping list."

"Diapers? Oh my, God, I didn't think about that!" Jasmina says in a panic.

"Well, last time, Chance was okay but Tim had accidents especially when he slept." Jenika says. There was a knock on the door. "Emoni is here."

"Okay, I'm gonna start packing. See y'all soon." Jasmina says.

"Good luck and drive carefully." Jenika says before ending the call to go answer the door.

"Hey, Girl." Emoni smiles as she hugs Jenika's neck. "How was the honeymoon?"

"Beautiful and very romantic." Jenika smiles.

"I bet. Well, where's that six ft three and a half inch baby at?" Emoni says, sitting down her purse and jacket.

"In the living room watching country music videos." Jenika giggles as they head that way.

Tim was sitting on the floor. Satchmo sat beside him. Tim had his arm around Satchmo's neck and was rocking back and forth to a Garth Brooks' video.

As the two ladies walk into the room, Satchmo turns his big, sad eyes toward them as if asking for help.

"Uh, Tim?" Emoni says in a sweet voice.

Tim looks away from the tv to see who was calling him.

"EMO!!" He gasps and begins clapping, giving Satchmo the chance to escape and run to another room..

"Honey, I just wish I was as skinny as Emo." Emoni laughs putting her hands on her hips.

"Mere." He says doing the baby grabby hands motion. "G..Gar B..Book." He adds with a stutter as he points back to the video.

"Oh, I love Gar Book." Emoni smiles as she sits down on the floor beside him.

"Sweetie?" Jenika says stooping down next to him. "I'm going to the store. Emo is going to stay here with you. So you be good, Okay?"

"Tay." Tim nods. "Mommy? Me want gummy bears. Tay?"

"Alright, I get you some gummy bears." Jenika smiles and kisses him on the nose.

He giggles and lays his head on Emoni's shoulder.

"He'll be fine." Emoni smiles, brushing back Tim's hair.

"I won't be long." Jenika says, grabbing her purse, keys and phone.

She gets into the car and sighs as she looks at the contact number on her phone, pressing the call button before putting the phone to her ear.

"Yeah?" A male voice answers after the third ring.

"Hi, watcha doing, Austin?" She asks biting her bottom lip.

"Just doing a little fishing with my babe. So what's up?" Austin asks.

"I don't think you wanna know." Jenika answers.

"Uh, Okay? I don't know how to reply to that." Austin chuckles.

"He's back. They're back." Jenika answers as she stares at her's and Tim's house.

"Who's he and who's they?" Austin asks as he cast out into the lake.

"Baby Tim and Baby Chance." She answers quietly.

There's a moment of silence.

"Austin?" Jenika thought that she had lost connection.

"W.. What?? I mean, I don't understand. How? Why?" Austin questions as he slowly sits down in a lawn chair on the pier.

"Baby?" Olena asks with a concerned look. Austin holds up a 'just a minute' finger.

"I don't know the answers, Austin. All I know is I'm on my way to the store for adult diapers. And Jasmina and Chance are fixing to head up this way from Mobile." Jenika says almost in tears.

"Alright, Uh. I'll contact the others for you. Olena and I will head that way probably tomorrow." Austin says.

"Thank you so much. I still have to call Dena." Jenika says, turning her wedding band on her finger.

"Alright, well, don't worry about the others. I call Luke too." Austin says. "We'll probably see you sometime late tomorrow evening or the day after. Depends on when we can get on the road."

"Thanks again. I love you guys." Jenika says as she starts her car.

"Love y'all too." Austin says before hanging up.

At the store, she picked up the adult diapers, a large bag of chicken nuggets, several cans of ravioli, a large bag of gummy bears, some fruit drinks for the boys and several toys.

Jenika manages to get everything inside the house in one trip. Sitting everything on the kitchen table, she could hear Emoni humming softly in the living room.

Tip-toeing quietly, she peeks into the room.

Emoni was sitting on the floor leaning back against the couch. Tim was laying on the floor asleep, sucking his thumb with his head laying in her lap. She hummed softly as she gently ran her fingers through his hair.

Jenika smiles at the sweet moment between the two. They had become friends during the 'Sing Off' days. Their friendship grew into best friends. They have always been the other's rock when things got rough.

Emoni looks up and smiles. "Sleeping like a baby." She whispers.

"Has he been good?" Jenika asks quietly, squatting down beside them.

"A perfect angel." Emoni smiles.

"I'm going to go call Dena while you're here." Jenika says. "I called Austin earlier. He's calling everyone else. Chance has switched back to and Jasmina is going to bring him up here and stay with us.

"That's terrible. I just hope it doesn't last long." Emoni says.

"Me too." Jenika says looking sadly down at her sleeping husband.
