My Life

' I would run a public library, full of all kinds of books, and the books that are the most popular would be arranged in the entryway. I would have wild stories for younger people about my adventures in Rome and Italy, or talk about the time I visited London. I would be there for my three kids, as they found adventures in school or in their imagination, fought between themselves, stood together against outside forces, finding hideouts in the tree, or looking out into the stars, searching for a flying blue box with the doctor within. I would tell stories about my days as a teacher, about the mischief that the student got into, and I would always have a book near me, for a quick reference. I would share my own stories about my own school days, when I would drown out the teacher with hidden earbuds, passing notes between my friends while we are supposed to be testing. I would encourage my own kids to imagine what they could do, and encourage them to read majestic works of literature, such as Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. I would live in a peaceful town in the north, watching the snowfall in the winter, and admiring the view of my backyard. I would watch as my husband and I grow old, and as my children grow up, and move out. I would find a smaller hideaway, living instead in the woods that surround the house. I would find more seclusion in my books, interacting less and less with humans than the black and white pages between two covers. And eventually I would pass. Pass into the great unknown, going off into the next great adventure.
