There never really was any where else I'd go apart from here. The place where I think all the time, where I go whenever I need to be alone. The beach. Not just any beach, the most beautiful beach in Cali. I could sit there, on the rocks all night and just watch the moonlight reflect off of the water.
The reason I'd come here is because I got a letter from my dad today, I had never met him, he walked out on my mother when I was born, she'd raised me all by herself. The letter I received was him asking how life was and how he regretted his mistake. I crumpled it up, stuck it in my pocket and came here. I'm holding it now, tears streaming.
Why would he do this to us? How could he? And he thinks he can just walk straight back into my life? I don't think so!
I sat there, for ages, just thinking. Questions buzzing all around in my mind. And then I felt a hand gently touch my shoulder, bringing me out of my thoughts. I jumped. I turned around, looking straight into these sparking, hazel eyes.
"Hey, hey, are you alright?!" He looked into my eyes.
I quickly wiped my tears and sniffed, jumping up and brushing off the sand.
"Um, yeah I'm fine," I gently smiled quickly, I began to walk.
He followed me and grabbed my arm,
"You don't look it," He stated. "What's wrong? By the way I'm Ross," He smiled, holding out his hand.
"I'm fine, I'm Emily," I answered.
