As I awoke I felt different. There was a difference, I was alone. And not in the same room or same bed. As I looked around I noticed all the signs, I was in a hospital. Ok what now? I sat up, waiting. Then a nurse came in.

"Hello, sweetheart. I am Ally, your nurse. I am going to check your vitals real quick. Alright?"

"Ok. Where is James?"

"I'll go get him for you."

"Violet, are you alright?" James asked as he walked over to me.

"Yeah. Where am I?"

"We are at the hospital. I couldn't quite fix your leg myself so I took you into Urgent Care and they told me to come here."

"Oh. But I'm a vamp. Right?"

"Well about that... In order to bring you here, I gave you a Cure. I hope you don't mind. I did it while you were asleep."

The doctor walked in and checked my vitals,

"Alright, dear, we have to give you one more poke, well, we need to draw blood. The nurse will be in in a moment to get you set up. While I get the supplies needed." I looked at James he looked worried, then he looked at me and half smiled.

"Violet the doctor said one not ten, calm down." I laughed a shaky laugh, he looked at me me worriedly.

"Dear, I am afraid there has been a mistake-" The nurse said as she walked in. "We have to check your leg and if it isn't better we will have to take a little bit of blood."

"Ok." I said in relief. James walked to the foot of the bed and pulled back the blankets, as the nurse walked out.

"Violet, don't get your hopes up." He said as he walked back to my side. "Your leg doesn't look much better. Like at all, you'll most-likely have to get blood drawn."

"No." Why? Why me?

"Come on Violet, you'll have my hand to squeeze. Calm down, alright?"

"Fine." I muttered in defeat. He tried not to laugh at the face I made, and failed.

"Dear," the nurse called walking into my room." I have to take you into a different room real quick."

"Can he come with...?" I asked pointing at James

"Er...Yes." I grabbed James hand and pulled him to me he sat on the edge of my bed as the nurse undid the brakes. He got off but didn't let go of my hand. The nurse pushed my down a hallway, up an elevator, and through another hallway before pulling into a huge, beige colored room, this room had chairs, tables, sheets everywhere, and a tray of, needles? Oh no, needles, man not again! The doctor walked in.

"Ok, first we will look at your leg, and if it is still bad the nurse will take a little bit of blood." The doctor walked over to one of the chairs and took a pair of plastic gloves from a box. He put the gloves on and lets them snap against his skin, twice, I flinched both times. The doctor flipped back the blanket, man was it cold outside of the blankets- I shivered-, he looked at my leg. He turned it around a little. feeling it and examining it.

"Ok, dear-" The doctor said after putting my leg down and covering me up."- I am afraid to say, the nurse will have to poke you, one more time. Ok?"

"Alright." James said for me. I grabbed his hand as the nurse came over with the tray of needles.

"Ok Honey, hold still and this will be over soon." The nurse wiped a cotton ball across my shoulder, it was alcohol soaked no doubt. I squeezed James hand. It hurt more than I expected. James saw my pain and sat on my bed tucking my head into his chest, still holding my hand.

"Violet, calm down, you're ok, I'm here. Shh, shh.' He said while stroking my hair.

"You're done sweetie." the nurse murmured quietly, while the doctor uncovered my leg and wrapped it in a cloth bandage. The nurse started pushing my bed back to my room, with James riding with me still trying to calm me. I didn't calm down until we were back in my room. The nurse walked out quietly.

"Violet, are you alright? Shh, violet you're fine, you're done."

"That really hurt." I choked out.

"I know, sweetie, I know." Then I looked at his eyes.

"You are thirsty." I said sounding stupid.

"Oh. Violet, calm down," He told me as I leaned away from him." I drink blood bags while we are here, plus since I am a doctor I can get blood bags free. From here only though."

"Oh." I said really feeling stupid. Then the nurse walked in. James took his hand back, as he went to talk to the nurse. And since now I wasn't a vampire I couldn't hear him. Man.

"Hey!" I complained under my breath. James heard me, he looked at me and smiled rolling his eyes. This really sucks, I really want to know what they are talking about. James looked back at the nurse. James walked back to my side and pulled up his chair. The nurse walked out swiftly. The doors opened and the nurse walked back in carrying a small square box.

"Violet, the nurse is going to take out your IV. So stay still and look at me."

"Why?"

Why what?"

"Why look at you?"

"Oh. Because if you look it hurts more, because, well, you're thinking about it. See that is one of the things I learned from being a doctor."

"Oh." James put his hand on my cheek so I couldn't look, or turn my head. Then the nurse started pulling it out and he moved his hand to my chin. I looked down and took his other hand, squeezing. He looked over at the nurse, I saw from the corner of my eye, and he nodded to her. I felt a little poke and looked up at James. He was looking at me, probably seeing if I felt it. I squeezed his hand harder because the little poke, now felt like a stab.

"Ow." I whimpered. The nurse took the needle out of my arm. She quickly walked out. I had no IV now at least, right? Just oh you know A VERY SORE ARM!

'HEY-" I started to say but James put his hand up and stopped me.

"Violet, I had the nurse give you a shot to put you to sleep, I can tell you're tired."

"Oh. Thanks?"

"Yeah." he said laughing. His laughter started fading. I opened my eyes not realizing i closed them, I felt around for his hand, I found it then i brought it up to my chest. I heard him chuckle, I smiled then drifted to sleep.
